Man...that Lisa Wells on WLW needs a voice coach

She sounds like 15 year old girl.

yep, I just turned if off 'cause I couldn't listen to that valley girl twang any more.

She has little competition... on 1360 there was a sports talk show overlapping with Richard Petty recording ads for a Coke Summer promo, then that ended and it went to an open mic in the studio for about 5 minutes, now it's lead-ins for some second-rate NASCAR race playing over and over: lead-in, dead air, ... lead-in, dead air... lead-in, dead air...

I love AM radio!

When you run a group pf radio stations using part timers and interns this is the result. CC needs that money to service their debt load. They do not care about spending money on programming, unless your name is Ryan Seacrest.

Her voice is just fine and her legal insights are great. She often has very intersting guests too. Her show is appointment radio for me. You gotta admit that her takes on the female teacher boinking the male student were provacatively hilarious! Beats the crap out of another infomercial, political show or baseball snoozefest. Rock on, Lisa!

And to think that 1360 once had more listeners than all other local stations combined.

Then bring back those Million Dollar Hot Wax Weekends with Dusty!

I agree COMPLETELY with Brian65...I turned her off, after calling the producer and imitating her fake hillbilly Jennifer Tilley wannabe voice.
It's pandemic, with women 20-40. They think they sound 'hot' or something. Actually, they/she just sound like a pick-up local yokel low rent radio show host who is gimmicking the vagina angle. YAWN.

1360 was the original WSAI, correct Bob?
I remember WSAI being at 1530 playing "Music of your life" about 15 years ago with a great local morning program with Nick Clooney and Don Herman.

Frankly, I don't understand the assault on this lady! COME-ON, guys – I know that a gutsy woman with obvious female vocal inflection that dares to enter the notorious WLW "male locker room" may attract the distain of those not of her gender and radio resume, but ENOUGH-ALREADY! To cite guttural stereotypes regarding her gender, age, and heritage demonstrates the ignorance of those doing so.
I've listened to her on over a dozen occasions; and she is always-witty, armed-'n-ready with the facts, polite-with and appreciative of her callers, and exhibits the roots of Talk talent that will certainly develop with proper guidance. I must invoke the "*" and say that it is an aberration for me to support a programming decision by Clear Channel; but in this case, I have a feeling that their choice of her as "the first female host on 700WLW" was a prudent one. I feel that she does a good job, and I'd MUCH RATHER hear her "keep the ball rolling" in REAL TIME – than suffer thru an infomercialor Marc Amazon weekend repeat on WLW.

Sorry, but these guys are right-- she is NOT a good radio personality. She could be-- but she's been thrown on air with the idea that she needs to be a typical WLW personality, with that goes with that description. I'm a woman, and I would LOVE to stick up for her. Actually, I had never heard her or of her when I started reading this thread, but happened to turn the radio on WLW on the way home from work yesterday. I hear this shrill, ear-piercing voice shouting down PG Sittenfeld and talking over Gary Jeff yesterday, and said to myself, "this has to be the Lisa they are talking about." Sure enough... She may be smart and savvy, but she needs to be worked with if they are going to keep her on the air. Take it down about three decibels, slow down and CALM down, Lisa-- learn how to take control of the conversation without speaking higher, louder and faster. It can be done but you have to work at it.

We manly men assert that she needs to develop her Talk talent roots into glorious flowering stalks before unleashing herself on 50K watts of flamethrower. Maybe spend time on a high school station or a podcast. It's not the content, it's the voice, mostly.

THIS "manly man" says you are full of "Dookie" (apologies to Green Day). I love her enthusiasm, her voice and her legal knowledge. No I'm not a CC employee, just a guy who finds Lisa to be a breath of fresh air or a normally stuffy radio dial. Hipporadio, I agree with you 100-percent!

"First female on 700WLW?" What about Lynn Gladhill, the psychic who didn't know she'd be fired for showing up after downing a sixpack of PBR?

Now THATS funny! A classic radio story.
