And to think that 1360 once had more listeners than all other local stations combined.nicomp said:She has little competition... on 1360 there was a sports talk show overlapping with Richard Petty recording ads for a Coke Summer promo, then that ended and it went to an open mic in the studio for about 5 minutes, now it's lead-ins for some second-rate NASCAR race playing over and over: lead-in, dead air, ... lead-in, dead air... lead-in, dead air...brian65 said:She sounds like 15 year old girl.
I love AM radio!

Agreed. Had to turn down my radio a few notches when she came on yesterday.her voice is too grating
Sorry, but these guys are right-- she is NOT a good radio personality. She could be-- but she's been thrown on air with the idea that she needs to be a typical WLW personality, with that goes with that description. I'm a woman, and I would LOVE to stick up for her. Actually, I had never heard her or of her when I started reading this thread, but happened to turn the radio on WLW on the way home from work yesterday. I hear this shrill, ear-piercing voice shouting down PG Sittenfeld and talking over Gary Jeff yesterday, and said to myself, "this has to be the Lisa they are talking about." Sure enough... She may be smart and savvy, but she needs to be worked with if they are going to keep her on the air. Take it down about three decibels, slow down and CALM down, Lisa-- learn how to take control of the conversation without speaking higher, louder and faster. It can be done but you have to work at it.hipporadio said:Frankly, I don't understand the assault on this lady! COME-ON, guys – I know that a gutsy woman with obvious female vocal inflection that dares to enter the notorious WLW "male locker room" may attract the distain of those not of her gender and radio resume, but ENOUGH-ALREADY! To cite guttural stereotypes regarding her gender, age, and heritage demonstrates the ignorance of those doing so.
I've listened to her on over a dozen occasions; and she is always-witty, armed-'n-ready with the facts, polite-with and appreciative of her callers, and exhibits the roots of Talk talent that will certainly develop with proper guidance. I must invoke the "*" and say that it is an aberration for me to support a programming decision by Clear Channel; but in this case, I have a feeling that their choice of her as "the first female host on 700WLW" was a prudent one. I feel that she does a good job, and I'd MUCH RATHER hear her "keep the ball rolling" in REAL TIME – than suffer thru an infomercialor Marc Amazon weekend repeat on WLW.
