When 580 was KCNA they were full-time. Not sure what they were after the call change. Another forum member posted long ago that those towers have been unused for many years.I often drive by the KEVT tower site so I'll take a look next time and report back.
Speaking of KSAZ I have heard them on the air the past two mornings but only before sunrise. Apparently they are now operating at night but not in the day! Weird.
Question. When 580's facilities were on N. Swan in Tucson, were they a daytime or full time operation?
KIKX was 24-hr. But, as CAVEMANage alludes to a couple of replies back, their nighttime signal was directional and left a lot to be desired in much of the Tucson area. When 580 was KCNA they were full-time. Not sure what they were after the call change. Another forum member posted long ago that those towers have been unused for many years.
I drove by the KEVT 1210 transmitter site today which backs up to Nogales Highway. Although the building is still there, the two towers are gone!Over a week ago I attempted to post the fact that a similarly programmed station, KEVT-1210, is off the air permanently but my post got censored. A reliable source tells me that KEVT's towers have been dismantled.
