March madness

Len Elmore allowed this year on CBS but not Jay Billis and Johnson downgraded to updates but still good coverage but next year CBS Sports Network needs to show some Games and more Teams.

Lol, several hundred thousand more homes need to see CBSSportsNetwork before any NCAA Tournament games would air there.

Already tired of Charles Barkley's schtick: say something ridiculous and say it very slowly.

Sorry, he's still tied to ESPN/ABC.

CBS does have some good play-by-play announcers (Verne
Lundquist and Kevin Harlan stand out) but I don't know that
any color commentators leap out at me. Also, I wonder if
CBS could have better handled the situation that occurred
during the Kentucky-Iowa State game: Lesley Visser was
interviewing Ashley Judd (who, tactfully, remembered she
was on CBS and didn't mention her new ABC show) when
Terence Jones got a technical. Lundquist was forced to
wait until Lesley whispered something into Ashley's ear
before he could explain (and show the replay) of Jones'
near-tantrum that got him the foul.

CBS could use some Dickie V. right about now. He's awesome, Baby.

Why do they need Vitale when Lundquist is working hard trying to imitate him? They both irritate me. And when did Ashley Judd become a basketball expert?

Lundquist is a general sportscaster. Vitale is strictly college basketball.

Lundquist irritates you? You must not watch SEC (Football) On CBS (or the Army/Navy Football matchup).

How do you do?

;D

TV sports departments love sucking up to Ashley Judd. If she isn't getting camera time at Kentucky hoops games, she's being shown every 5 seconds when her husband, Dario Franchitti, is winning an Indycar race.
This was the first time in the last several years I could remember that they interviewed her during a timeout. Looked like Lesley Visser was starstruck, or maybe she ignored the director, as that segment dragged on. I have no clue what she said, since they were both drowned out by the band, nor would I really want to know. But Visser was completely oblivious to the game, and as a result, so were the viewers, until the ladies magnanimously shut up so Lundquist could explain about the technical foul. This sort of crap used to happen to ESPN with 'Monday Night Football', before they finally stopped the nonsensical celeb interviews.
Judd, at least, went to UK, knows the game, and belongs there, as a spectator. But we don't need a star-struck interviewer 'whispering' in her ear when something's happening on the court.

how about the significant TV delay?
Carolina scored twice on radio before
they scored once on TV. layup/steal/3pt.
maybe i should run a "sting" like the old
Paul Newman movie where the *delay*
allowed manipulation of bets.

She was even on NPR's "Car Talk". She was so nice.

Before Turner Sports was involved in NCAA March Madness coverage, CBS did borrow other ESPN personalities for its broadcast teams--including both Jay Bilas and Dick Vitale. Specifically during this years tournament, I've seen some NBA TV talent and a few folks I've seen on Fox Sports Net (Fox Sports South and/or SportSouth).
