Markets where News/Talk stations underperform

In Vegas, KXNT and Kdwn are low compared to other markets, I think it';s because of bad management and cheap talent.
Ditto to that! What both of those stations need if to use KFI's model, & get better local hosts.

Rapid City, Doesn't have a single station doing Live Talk, But has alot of public/religious stations.

I'm not really sure where you're coming from because Rapid City has two talk stations: KOTA and KTOQ. KOTA is the #1 station in the market.

I was just there...nothing live and local that shows up in the book as far as talk. 100% syndicated.

This is no longer as true as it once was. In the new trend, KXNT is #3 12+, this is the highest I ever remember a news/talk station ranking in Las Vegas. KDWN is up to a 2.9 12+ which is it's highest share in over a decade. So now the LV N/T share, while not huge, is much more in the mainstream compared to those truly underperforming Southern markets such as Greensboro and Birmingham.
