I know some markets without a primary ABC station: Yuma, CA.; Quincy, IL.; and Monterey, CA. Oh yeah: North Platte, NE. How many more are there?

This site TV Markets is a pretty good place to start looking
______________

Glendive, MT, home to KXGN-TV channel 5 (NBC/CBS). Glendive, MT is the smallest TV market in the United States. You can also add WAGM-TV (CBS) channel 8 of Presque Isle, ME. It's the only US-based commercial TV station in that DMA (Aroostook County in northern Maine).

Monterey-Salinas, Calif., which lost its over-the-air ABC affiliate when KNTV/San Jose deaffiliated in anticipation of becoming a NBC affiliate (they eventually became a NBC O&O). An interesting situation, since the market ABC affiliate was actually licensed in an adjacent market.

They now have a cable ABC channel, "ABC 7" produced by network O&O KGO-TV/San Francisco.
______________

I thought WAGM still carried some ABC(and, for that matter, NBC) programming in off-prime hours.

KXGN also carries some Fox stuff as well, at least NASCAR anyway, so they're still a three-network affiliate.

I believe WAGM went strictly CBS sometime last year. Before that, they had been carrying a mere handful of NBC shows, most notably "Days of Our Lives" and "Sunday Today."

Which stations if any in those markets without an ABC affiliate are carrying the super bowl. Just curious how that is handled.

Super Bowl On Secondary ABC Affiliates

According to www.titantv.com, KECY from Yuma, AZ. will air the Super Bowl Pregame show intended for ABC stations, then reads 'programming unavailable', then KECY is listed as airing the postgame party afterwards, with FOX Primetime airing after that....Will KECY, Ch. 9 be airing the Super Bowl this year?

KECY airing SB40?

Do markets with a low-power station for ABC count in this case? I know that the South Bend/Elkhart, IN market has ABC via low-power channel 58. As for no-ABC markets, what about Presque Isle, ME? Again, they only have WAGM-TV (CBS) channel 8 for a US-based commercial TV station. The rest is on cable or comes from New Brunswick (Canada).

For the record, WBND-LP moved to channel 57 to make way for WSJV-DT on 58.

The cable systems in Terre Haute either carry WRTV 6 Indianapolis or the Effingham ABC affiliate or WAND Decatur. As far as OTA, you don't see it.

You mean WICD in Champaign -- WAND's an NBC affil now.

I know Sherman, TX/Ada, OK doesn't, or at least didn't used to, have a primary ABC affiliate. However, you could catch ABC on either KOCO Oklahoma City or WFAA Dallas depending on where you lived. KTEN, the NBC affiliate, also used to have secondary ABC and Fox affiliations and would run their programming in the overnights, though I want to say they don't have those secondary affiliations anymore. The exception was Fox NFL Sunday, in which case they would bump NBC programming to overnights. There were also some shows in primetime, I believe Dateline NBC was the main one, they would bump to make room for the others' programming.

Wheeling, WV/Steubenville, OH and Weston/Clarksburg, WV.
Both markets should be able to see Super Bowl XL on WTAE/4
Pittsburgh(!)

Also, how about Laredo, TX and Laurel/Hattiesburg, MS?

> Also, how about Laurel/Hattiesburg, MS?

WLOX in Biloxi has over-the-air coverage as far north as Laurel. North of Laurel, ABC is available on WTOK in Meridian and WAPT in Jackson.

As far as I can tell, every market mentioned is w/o ota ABC except the low-power South Bend station

And you can Add these markets to the list:

Albany, GA
Alpena, MI
Bend, OR
Helena, MT (i believe they have a low power translator via an adjacent market here)
Lafayette, IN
Lake Charles, LA
Lima, OH
Mankato, MN
Parkersburg, WV
Zanesville, OH

KXGN does not carry any FOX programing. They do carry a few UPN programs, however.
