106.1 was already an ac station a few years back. it was sunny 106.1, the north shore's soft rock station. it was really listened to by the people of picayune and waveland then. i dunno about now.....?????? seemed the people in mississippi liked it better.......
btw........... why is it that stations in small markets like mobile, panama city, meridian, etc............ have way better stations, formats, processing, and playlists than we do?? i find it extremely sad when i have to get in my car and tolerate static just cause i like listening to stations not here in town. and i don't particularly care for satellite.
i worked in radio quite a few years ago before leaving it and moving on. you'd think since we're a bigger city, bigger market, theyd have the funds. instead, they spend it like givin a child money and cuttin em loose in a candy store. "buy whatever you want son!!!!" lol
seems the bigger cities favor bringing in transient corporate puppets for pd's, and letting them run a station to the ground....... WITHOUT REGARD TO HERITAGE OR AUDIENCE......... the way i see it, oftentimes, it goes like this....the bigger the city, the worse it gets.
