A few random thoughts about the KICKS/Eagle massacre-
1. Christmas just came 10 months early for Cledus. His morning show competition self-destructs when he's only been in this top 10 market for two months.
2. Caddy's show on KICKS relied heavily on Kristin's energy. It's going to be hard for Caddy to compete with the Bull's morning team.
3. Victor Sansone looks pretty smart for bailing out before the executions, doesn't he?
4. The last time that KICKS had a terrific morning show was when Moby, Deborah Richards and Jim Vann were together ('98 won an ACM Award). The shows since then have been lackluster at best.
5. This ain't Citadel's first rodeo. I'm guessing that they've done mass firings of talent and voicetracked stations before, so what they're doing must have worked at other stations.
6. Radio is a sunset industry. Other media are taking its market share. Those who recognize this truth will prepare themselves for the new broadcast paradigms or die...simple as that.
