Matty has a major announcement on Monday

Hadn't heard that happened at Kiss, but I did hear in the days of "Nifty" WNFT 1150 they were simulcasting WAAF. Cleaning crew didn't much like the music, switched the radio to Jam'n or something, not aware they were switching what was being broadcast

99 Revere Beach Parkway? How long has KISS been away from that property?

This is a real good idea!
Clear Channel Boston is being very innovative in rebuilding a News Talk station.
Before WXKS became Kiss, nobody had ever really tried the angle of "Kiss" before (unless you count KIIS, but that was more about the call letters).

Very innovative idea, and it is what is needed to give 1200 an identity all its own. Every great format starts somewhere, and I wish them luck!

Well i agree I've sampled it online and found myself laughing a lot, think of this your sitting in traffic maybe you had a bad day and i know am is't what it once was but you could flip on matty 1200 and laugh all the way home!!

Maybe 4 and a half till Fox Sports arrives :)

btw I don't know if RKO may get Rush and C2C earlier, since both shows are temp homeless in Boston.
If not there are affiliates in NH, RI, and elsewhere in MA for the time being

If 1510 indeed goes NBC Sports next month as has been rumored, why would CC wait four months to sign on the FIFTH sports talker in the market on arguably the worst signal in the market? CC has apparently registered a couple dozen or so domain names for other potential comedy stations around the country. They seem to be committed to rolling out this format on some of their struggling signals where other talk options just don't make sense. I think this is going to be the format, at least for the foreseeable future.

Could be. They could flop with comedy. They could flop with sports. Whatever, they get some ads sold.
Lots of people like comedy (but will they stay with it for months and years?) Lots of people like sports
(perhaps more than politics: "Who cares who Romney's running mate is? I WANNA TALK FOOTBALL!!"
Computer in a closet, loss leader.

Listening to the debut audio. Lenny Clarke...you thought McPhee's voice was annoying...?

Dane Cook, he who joked about Colorado's movie shootings...too soon? Don't forget his little sports for
major league baseball playoffs a couple yrs back. "Because there's only one...OCTOBER!"

''Retirement is my first thought.

I am sure a part of him looks at how Charles Laquidara just cashed in and went off to Maui and Matty is now 62. His daughters are all grown up and 31 years of waking up early when you are a night owl by nature takes a toll''.

Is it just me..or why is a 62 year old guy doing AM Drive on a CHR in a top 10 market? Is it just a Boston thing? I've tried listening..just had trainwreck written all over it..a too large crew fighting for too little mic time...just cries out for a more music thing..

Fox sports would be a flop, they know that, it's not gonna happen, stop talking about it! People here don't give a rat's ass about college sports or sports in general outside of the Boston pro teams.

I don't like FOX Sports. Back in March CC flipped WPOP here in Hartford to FOX Sports Radio from ESPN. (They moved ESPN to 97.9 FM a new move-in from Springfield). I tried listening to FSR several times and found it to be boring and uninteresting. I'm not a hard-core sports radio listener but I like Mike & Mike and COWHERD on ESPN Radio plus the local afternoon show hosted by Bower.

I can not say for sure but my guess is 5 or 6 years. I heard the building was going to be torn down and Sonic wanted to open on that spot. The Medford City Council and Mayor had a lot of traffic concerns. When Heftel bought the building and land from Woody Tarlow they didn't realize that Tarlow held back a small piece of land just before you entered the radio station parking lot. Tarlow then leased that piece of land to a parking lot operator.
Having to drive through that little pay lot to get to the Kiss parking lot was always a sore subject.
