Matty's first day on Coast 93.3

OK I found the tape. Link at the bottom. Syndicated shows can sound decent if you run a tight board. Hot 106 used to do a good job with Howard. Don't know why WSNE can't get it together with Matty. Here is the link to when I used to run the board for Dick Clark's Countdown America. Now I know that running the board for a LIVE morning show is more complicated than running it for a recorded weekend show. But my point is that the person at the controls makes a big difference in how smooth the show sounds. I used to run the board for Celtics and local Fall River basketball too. Things always sounded tight. When I hear big gaps of dead air on the radio it sounds to me like a Board Op who may not be so great at his job.

John... nice! That's the way radio should be ran. I 100% agree with you. I am very anal when it comes to being tight and making things sound good. You did a great job at that in your in-studio aircheck. Let's see, Fast Car... so that had to be 1988. I didn't even know WSAR carried the show then :) I used to listen to Countdown America on 93.3 WSNE in 1993. I remember he changed the name of the show to U.S. Music Survey before it went off the air. I have some airchecks I recorded myself from 1993 with Dick Clark's show.

Thanks for the kudos! I appreciate it. Do you know when "Countdown America" changed it's name to US Music Survey? I was looking through my files and I found a "Countdown America" program from November 1994. I have the whole show, but I did a quick edit and uploaded it just in case anybody wants to get a taste of it. In my opinion it was a pretty good Countdown program. Here is a sample
