Just to clarify a few things:
* Yes, that is the name I've heard in that off-the-wall, really off-the-wall rumor, the one and only Danny Bonaduce, now an experienced morning drive host about to lose his place in Philadelphia due to the aforementioned WYSP-to-WIP-FM flip next month.
The rumor, passed along by someone not connected to the situation at all, says they're figuring out what to do with Danny, and Cleveland and WNCX is supposedly one of two possible destinations.
I once again said this was "an off-the wall, really off-the-wall" rumor. I have no information or even my old solid rumblings that it's about to happen, or that WNCX is the destination of choice. I only discuss it here because it's a funny rumor, and gives the opportunity to make "Partridge Family" jokes.
* No, Maxwell is not "getting fired" in some blaze of glory as predicted a half dozen times in this thread. His contract is not getting renewed. They may eat the last month or so, due to other circumstances (i.e. "The Fan"'s 8/29 launch).
The fact that Maxwell's contract isn't getting renewed became painfully obvious in the past month or so, and though I don't listen to his show at all (or Rover, either), supposedly Maxwell himself has been saying this on the air in recent weeks.
The past few days, Maxwell show cast member "Ribz" has tweeted that he "can't talk about" anything involving the show.
Again, I don't listen to Maxwell, or Rover, or even Alan Cox, and even if I ever did, I don't buy all the intershow drama/intrigue. (80 hours of off-air tapes? Who cares?)
Maxwell is not "getting fired" because of anything Rover says or plays on his show.
Maxwell's show is coming to an end because of a rather mundane contract non-renewal and a changing environment around the Halle Building.
* I appreciate Nathan's role as "Secondary Editorial Voice(tm)" and his occasional contributions as a guest blogger. And he was a big help in piecing together the "Fan" story.
But Nathan is his own man. If he has opinions on here or elsewhere, they are his alone, and he doesn't necessarily represent OMW (the blog, or yours truly as Primary Editorial Voice[tm]).
Now, we often agree on media-related stuff, but if you have a beef with his messages here, take it up with him, not me. We are not joined at the hip.
