May 2022 Bay Area Radio PPM Ratings

High ratings or not, KDFC seems to have a more robust following given the high percentage of Asians in the Bay Area.
Unfortunately, Nielsen has no breakout of any kind for Asian listeners. In fact, there is no stratification variable (meaning that there is no desired quota of respondents) for Asians.

My purely anecdotal experience with Asians and music is that the three I've worked with -- two whose parents came to the US from India, the other whose parents came over from Vietnam with him when he was a baby -- had no use for the popular music of their parents' culture or any Asian culture. The Indian-American pair, both women, were into rhythmic pop and country, while the Vietnamese-American, male, was into alternative rock. One of the women used to do a hilarious imitation of the typical wailing vocals of Indian pop whenever the topic came up; that's how much she disliked that stuff.
