Me-TV Fall 2011

That's the nice thing about living in Chicago, Me-TV has a second channel called Me-Too, and they usually pair off. If Me-TV is showing a comedy, then Me-Too shows a drama or western. Or vice versa, so you can always find a comedy or drama between the two stations. Before Me-TV went national, in Chicago, Me-TV was all sitcoms and Me-Too was drama and westerns and such

METV is losing its Bay Area affiliate as KFTY-50 will be Spanish Language Azteca America sometime today.

WFLA is adding it after all. A lot of the new shows are already on RTV, will be interesting to see what they do.

Confirmed...RTV's schedule beginning next Monday has yet another home for the poor abused run of "Merv Griffin's Crosswords" for an hour replacing their "Daytime" show from FLA :(. Again, not retro, but it looks like Media General knew that the writing was on the wall for RTV.

The format hasn't changed yet, as of about 4 PM PT Monday. Still waiting for word on whether there will be a new Bay Area affiliate, but status quo for now.

Sounds like they have a long-term solid plan. Very shortly MeTV and Antenna TV will pick up RTV's few good stations and maybe many LPTV if they go in that direction. :)

I was surprised to see Me-TV (or rather Me-Too) take off "Leave It To Beaver," as it's been around on that channel a long time. And Me-Too often duplicates a lot of Antenna TV's shows anyway, at least in Chicago. I'll be glad when it's back. LTB is one of the few shows, I can watch over and over, without getting sick of it.

Even the non regular characters had classic lines:

"Oh Miss Landers, the Beaver was talking, I told him the bell had rung and just because you weren't in the room yet, doesn't mean he could talk." (Judy)

"Gee, your kitchen always looks so clean, my mother says it looks as though you never do any work in here" (Eddie)

"Have to keep a firm hand on boys nowadays, Ward. My Clarence answered me back the other day. I smacked him right in the mouth. None of this psychology for me." (Fred)

"Things would be all right if my daughter could just find a husband. Then we'd always have a man around to give it to Larry when his father's out of town." (Mrs Mondello)

I noticed that Me-TV affiliate KFTY-50 shows Infomercials too. Are the infomercials a part of Me-TV schedule or are affiliates able to break away from Me-TV programming? Just wondering as my Antenna TV station (KTXL-40.2) presents the Antenna TV programming 24/7. No Infomercials at all!

The MeTV feed has no infomercials. Same with co-owned ThisTV. Affiliates are allowed to break away on both, and some do.

I do know RTV has infomercials, but have not seen any on Antenna TV.

MeTV & This TV both don't have infomercials (MeTV doesn't have any since going nationwide, but did have some when it was just in Chicago, & can't speak for the Milwaukee MeTV when it was just in Milwaukee). This TV usually shows MGM TV shows during the overnight hours & cartoons in the early morning hours, with movies the rest of the day. Any station that has infomercials are choosing to break away from the network feed to make money in those timeslots. I'm not sure if there's a possibility that individual stations must blackout certain MeTV shows, because another station has the rights to a specific show, & they either show another episode of another MeTV show, or have infomercials in its place.

Antenna TV also has no infomercials. After they air the last episode of Hazel, they go to showing movies. I know one California station (I believe KTLA) must blackout Married With Children, because another station has the rights to that show, & that Antenna TV affiliate can not show Married With Children as a result. I forgot what's shown in its place.

Although Bounce doesn't list themselves as showing infomercials, I wonder if they'll show any on the national feed in order to pay their bills initially. According to their website, they're supposed to go on the air at 12 noon EST.

WBME 49 in Milwaukee hasn't shown a single infomercial since signing on with MeTV.

Weigel's low-power indy station WMLW 41 has few, if any infomercials (though I could be wrong). I do know that their main Milwaukee station, CBS58, does air them, mostly overnight. None on the ThisTV subchannel (58.3). And they've got the real estate barker on 58.4.

RTV used to air in Milwaukee (on 6.2 before they were dropped for Antenna), and they had infomercials in overnight hours. They did (and perhaps still do) break away to show replays of some FOX 6 programming, and act as a secondary affiliation for FOX programming that may be preempted on the main channel. Weigel doesn't have to worry too much about that. With two full-power stations (CBS58 and WBME), two low-power stations (WMLW and Telemundo affiliate WYTU 63) and subchannels up the wazoo, they have no shortage of broadcast outlets in Milwaukee.

KGMC 43 in Fresno runs Antenna tv on 43.5 and Me-TV on 43.6 and runs 24/7 with no informecials, but there main channel 43.1 is ALL Informecials all of the time.
