Me TV to go national

Hopefully if ME-TV goes on stations that already carry This TV, that will mean that it will be on WMC in Memphis, which will mean it will also be on Charter cable in Jackson, TN.

If MeTV goes on any stations with This TV, it won't be on any Tribune stations. I don't know the reason Tribune decided not to put Antenna TV on KPLR in St. Louis, as I thought Tribune stations would have Antenna TV on their stations first, then stations in non-Tribune markets would have the option of affiliating with Antenna TV. Instead, it's on KTVI in the St. Louis market on a competing station. So I don't see KPLR carrying MeTV either, though it does have This TV.

KTVI and KPLR are in the same building (I believe) under the same management. Not sure what you mean by "competing station."

Here in Hartford THIS-TV is on Tribune's WCCT Channel 20.2 and Antenna TV is going to be on sisters station WTIC Channel 61.2 so far ME-TV isn't going to be on the air in Hartford. In my opinion it should be on Channel 59.2 because on such channel exists yet. Here's what we have.

Channel 3.1 WFSB CBS
Channel 3.2 WSHM-LP/67 Springfield, MA (Exists only to get WSHM's signal to the cable head-ends in all of Western Mass)
Channel 3.3 Eyewitness News Now 24/7 News & Weather Channel (Sometimes will show CBS overflow programming)
Channel 3.4 WFSB Fairfield County. Same as WFSB's main channel only with local ads for Fairfield County. Available only to Cablevision Subscribers in Fairfield County, which is weird because parts of Fairfield County including Newton is served by Charter and Danbury is served by Comcast.

Channel 8.1 WTNH ABC
Channel 8.4 Channel 8 Doplar Radar

Channel 18.1 WUVN Univision
Channel 18.2 WHTX-LP Springfield, Mass (WHTX is reportedly off the air)
Channel 18.3 WUTH-LP Telefutura - IDs as WUVN Channel 18.3
Channel 18.4 La-TV (reportedly)

Channel 20.1 WCCT-TV CW
Channel 20.2 This-TV

Channel 30.1 WVIT NBC
Channel 30.2 NBC Weather Plus
Channel 30.3 Universal Sports Television

Channel 59.1 WCTX My Network TV

Channel 61.1 WTIC-TV FOX
Channel 61.2 Antenna TV

KTVI is owned by Local TV LLC, while KPLR is owned by Tribune. Both stations do operate in the same building, with Local TV running KPLR under an LMA. I don't know if Tribune might be looking to sell their St Louis station down the line, or just let Local TV LLC run the station. I don't know that one right now. I didn't know until I searched the Local TV LLC webite, & wikipedia. Even so, it still surprises me that Antenna TV didn't actually end up on KPLR.

Maybe they thought more people would be watching Antenna TV than the CW on KPLR!!!
I know I would pick it over the CW any day.

Local TV also has a chain of to-be-RTV subchannels in its portfolio: WHNT, WITI...

All these TV channels and NO Mama's Family, the world would be a lot better off with more Mama's Family and less Wikileaks :)

Simple reason is subchannel divvying; KTVI is 720p and can fit a subchannel comfortably, while KPLR is 1080i and already has This TV, so adding an 11.3 there will bump down the video quality.

Now that's a great answer! So the most subs some stations will ever have is one, because
that's all they have room for.

Official launch is 12/15

Still no national affiliate list, one week out from the launch?

I'm still hoping for WUAB/43.3 here. An easy to pick up UHF channel (unlike Raycom sister WOIO/19 - RF 10) that already carries This TV on 43.2.

43.1 is MyNetwork TV, which should be 720p due to Fox running it, so they should have room HD-bandwidth wise for another decent 480i sub.

I wouldn't mind if WBNX/55 carried it, but ONLY if they don't use it solely as a gap filler for 55.2, now running scattered Ernest Angley religious programming and some other stuff (the televangelist owns the CW affiliate).

I'm glad somebody is ok with showing Gilligan's Island again.......I was raised on that show.

Seems they are going opposite of Anteanna TV. Start up and then get some affiliates. My guess
is they will work nearby on Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio first......and then spread out. I wonder how many station managers have never even heard of Me-TV yet.

Some of those shows such as Leave it to Beaver, The Rifleman etc. are also on RTV. Are they going to preempt some of them so there won't be a conflict? The only thing that bothers me is that they are running 2 episodes of 30min shows back to back. Which seems very common these days. that causes the shows to start back over too often which causes quick burn-out, especially on shows that have only a handful of seasons. I think they should run a show only once a day, or once a week if they don't have many episodes. that way they could get more mileage out of it before it gets old.

Exact same pattern used by This TV, and we know how unpopular and failed that network is! ;)

Shouldn't be, since Me-Too is local and RTV is national. Like how Law and Order is on MNTV and in syndication, M*A*S*H is on ION and locals, My Name is Earl is on ION and locals, etc. MNTV and ION are national broadcast, Me-Too is a local.

Heck, I guess broadcast networks can share rights for shows even -- Without a Trace is on ION and MNTV, M*A*S*H is on ION and upcoming MeTV.

More news.....I'm reading that this is how MeTV/WCIU/whatever will be set up next week:

26.1 WCIU main
26.2 The U Too, new network [currently MeTV local]
26.3 Me-TV (national launching 12/15) [currently Me Too]
26.4 Me-Too (combo of the old MeTV and Me Too launching 12/15) [currently This TV]
26.5 This TV

This reads so confusing....but it looks like they are trying to better organize things.

Except for a couple of hours, Me-TV Milwaukee will be airing the national feed on 12/15 as well.
