Me TV to go national

Well, it's now national.

WBME in Milwaukee is airing the national feed. Not much different, except times for shows are announced for Eastern and Central time zones. The network and Chicago websites have been updated.

Hate to say it, but I watched the OLD Me-TV over the last few days and now
that the shows have all changed, seems like the old ME was much better.

Most of the old shows have been moved over to Me-Too which is only
seen in Chicago or on ivi.tv now. NOW, I think Me-Too is better.

Still, MeTV is better than what most of the country gets to see...

Come on, you knew what I meant! Don't be so fussy!

Hey, it's not your fault that Weigel hasn't announced any non-owned affiliates for this yet. :D

(No, not for This, that actually has affiliates.)

Hey, people gotta give them time. It was a pretty quick launch after all (only a few weeks since the announcement). Rome wasn't built in a day, y'know.

I think it's a good idea. Gives them a little time to work out some kinks. Tuned in yesterday and there were a few snafus and glitches (mostly satellite reception stuff). The advantage is that they already have the infrastructure, imaging, etc. in place. Now it's just a matter of signing on stations. Don't sneer at them or count 'em out just yet.

TRIBUNE: Hey this Me-TV is quite enjoyable, why don't we try to do something like that?
We could call it Antenna-TV.

WIEGEL: Those bastards done stole our idea. We'll show them! We'll rush to debut two weeks
before they do!!!

TRIBUNE: Why the rush Wiegel, you've only got 3 stations? Lol

WIEGEL: Who cares! We beat you to the punch and made our point. That'll teach you to steal
our idea.

TRIBUNE: Let's just be friends. Maybe there is room for both of us. Have a nice Chirstmas.

WIEGEL: Thanks but no thanks............may your stocking have a block of coal in it!

I'll continue to "sneer" at Me-TV until they get affiliates outside the Chicago/Milwaukee/South Bend axis. You can call yourself "national" all you want, but it's the same thing that already existed.

That certainly does make sense, but it doesn't make Me-TV national...yet. :D

It's "nationally available" to affiliates that wish to join up, and I look forward to carriage outside of the Weigel markets. It certainly has interest, if Mr. Sabin is to be believed.

It just seems like a lot of the pre-launch hype was designed to get people to "call their local stations", where competitor Antenna TV will launch with widespread distribution, including on quite a few non-Tribune/Local TV stations.

MeTV is launching the same way that This TV is. No real surprise there, in my view.

OK, I'll shut up now. :D

I just expected some more clearance announcements given the existing MGM/Weigel partnership for This, and given that Antenna TV has already lined up nationwide coverage pre-launch (including non-Tribune/Local TV stations).

I'll wait.
