I think radio one might already own that with WPHI. Started at 103.9, moved to 100.3, and is now at 107.9 ...all of which has happen in less then 7 years time. So if they don't have the overall record in Philly on the a single band, then they atleast have the most in under a decades time.Wayne McMannors said:What is the all time record for a station to change frequencies in the same market?
Merlin's FM News stations in NYC and Chi cago don't crack a 1.0.josh said:I still have very strong doubts. WPEN-FM took a bit chunk of WIP's audience.
FM NEWS versus KYW AM NEWS. Here is how, I believe it will play out. Within six months, Merlin's FM News will garner a minimum of a 2.3 share. At that point, KYW will always trail, WBEB, WOGL and WDAS-FM until it secures a spot of the FM dial. Country King, WXTU will pass KYW and never look back.
Just my thoughts.

On which "the jingle" can become, as another poster suggested, "K-Y-W... News Ray-di-o... Phila-del-phyaaaaaa!" (Assuming the format stays on 1060 as well; would 1060 stay all-news under your scenario, RadioPhillyFan?)

Maybe Randy & Co. should really be trying to launch WGN-type stations on FM for "the next generation." Engaging talk hosts might attract audience faster than an all-news format.
