MeTVfm 87.7 Coming Soon!

OK, let's reign this one in right now, before anyone else gets hurt! :) This is not an LPFM, with maximum power of 100 watts. It's currently a low power analog TV translator with 3000 watts. When its digital construction permit is built out, its coverage will extend to places like Waukegan and Michigan City.

Its TV coverage, yes. But to listen to it on 87.7 requires it to stay analog. The moment it switched to digital the radio station goes away, which is supposed to be September of this year.

"Reign"? Not "rein"? Don't make me hurt you, semoochie! On February 23, the 87.7 call letters changed from WGWG-LP to WRME-LP but, as semoochie points out, the station is not technically a low-power FM. Chicago media observer Robert Feder describes 87.7 as "a low-power TV channel that's been operating as a FM station under a variety of formats since 2008." Yes, he said "a FM" and not "an FM." Don't make me hurt you, Robert! His article also depicts the MeTV FM logo. Their slogan is "Me Music." Who came up with that? Bizarro from the Superman comics? :)

Coverage map in the article posted by MusicRadioUSA notwithstanding. The 87.7 signal is, and has been all along, very listenable in and around where I live in Crystal Lake.
