Miami's Easy format's......

WPCV does, indeed, have an excellent Central Florida signal. Its 1,000 + foot tower is situated near Haines City which gives it as close to a true coast-to-coast signal as possible. I've heard WPCV clear all the way into Belle Glade. WFLC starts to bleed over just South of that area.

WMBX should sound clear in Palm Beach since it is a 100kw C1 and has a 70dbu contour over the entire area. WPBZ Indiantown (another 100kw C1 formerly licensed to Okeechobee) has an equally impressive 70dbu contour over Palm Beach.

WPCV wouldn't be a problem, if not for WFLC IBOC. It wouldn't be strong, but it'd be there. Haines City, eh? We drive right thru there on the way to Ocala. I always remind myself to tune in WLVF 90.3 while going that way.... www.Gospel903.com (.org?)

Tampa has no B/EZ station unless one counts WDDV, a low powered AM station in Sarasota that does not carry into Tampa. WDUV has a complete monopoly on soft radio since WSJT flipped to Hot AC from Smooth Jazz.
5000 watts isn't low-power if you're talking about AM. But if you say they don't reach Tampa, maybe they don't.

How can Miami not have one AM playing good music? I don't mean just those songs on Easy 93.1, of which I know there are many. I mean those good songs with even better ones and none of the bad ones.

Along with the a fore mentioned stations I would have to include WOGK 93.7 out of Ocala. Just my opinion but I still think that is the best overall signal in the state. I travel up and down I-75 several times a year and I know I can always count on that signal to carry me from the north side of Tampa to the Georgia state line each and every time. It also reaches both coasts in the north central areas of the state. I know it can be heard both in Daytona Beach and on the Gulf Coast without much problem.

I forgot to mention WOGK. I loved listening to Gator Country when I was a student in Gainesville. It does not always come in well in the Tampa area, but it is an easy catch in most of the Orlando area. WOGK used to brag that they had the best signal in the state, exaggerating that they reached both Seminole and Hurricane country.

Speaking of Country stations with good signals, Dr. Tillery mentioned 102.3 WTRS. They also have an impressive signal. The station can be heard well down the Turnpike. I remember listening for quite a distance on my drives south out of Gainesville.
