Midday Opening to be filled at 103.3 Amp Radio

From a good source I heard that the open midday slot at 103.3 Amp Radio will be filled in about 2 weeks. Amp will be making an announcement soon.

Yeah! Those 18-34 females are dying for a 60-something jock to come to Amp. There's nothing a 21 year old college girl loves more than broadcast heritage.

I'm so tired of the "we need heritage jocks who have done nothing but work here" line. You know, there's a whole big group of us late 20-somethings and 30-somethings who have been working our asses off in the smaller markets for a shot at the majors. Quite a few of us are very talented. Why shouldn't we get the same shot that these people got 30 years ago?

Funny, we were saying the SAME THING 30 years ago!! :) I was "supposed to" replace Dave Maynard when he retired! Lofty goal that was never attained. :( Times change, people never do.

Let's hope it's a local radio talent. Doesn't matter how old they are, but a younger talent would fit better on AMP. My guess it's the AMP Party girl?

I would prefer heritage just because there is a lot of 'newer' talent on the airwaves; TJ show, Joe Windy, Mix mornings with Pepper, Mike Salk, Kirk Minihane, heck even Sports hub shows. A heritage jock gives ME, albeit selfishly, someone to connect with. If you put Karen, Artie, JJ, Marc Clark, etc on middays, I would be more likely to tune the station in more often. The way it is now feels like a small market station I'd listen to traveling on sales calls in Tennessee. There is nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't feel like home. Makes me more apt to get Satellite.

Heritage would fit in better at Hot as they are looking at a slightly older demo than Amp. It would would have to be a name from the 90s or early 2000s. Guess the question is: Is Hot even considering Midday or evening talent?

But you are not in their target demo.

The average listener of Amp wouldn't have any idea as to who any of those people are.

Was thinking that today, seems like Melissa covers weekends too.

Does Hot run traffic updates?

I wonder who they could get would seem maybe there hiring as we speak, I'm sure at some point there going to have weekend mix shows like the quiet storm or something. I'm loving the playlist right now ppl come into my work and say wow haven't heard that song in years what station is that!!
