Mike Rose...come on down!

I knew there was a reason Mike Rose showed up on Kimmer's behalf at that assault hearing. Wonder what he'll get for appearing at the civil trial?

This is just plain nuts! All of you out there are so incredibly jealous of folks who really have a chance and YOU dont! Radio is meant for some, BUT NOT FOR ALL.
It's really simple after all, if you don't like what you hear on any freq then turn the
damn dial. WGST is in trouble, (Anyone who knows Atlanta radio knows this, so why all the negative talk?) WSB excells simply because of the signal. Looking at this in a rational way would explain this. Yes WSB has really good, and proven talent but WGST has no signal. Way back when in the day when GST was on 920, they had a better coverage. Then 640 became available and GST went nuts to flip freq's. None of us really dig the 640 change, or even the talent hired here, but what the hell, who cares? Mike good luck in all of your adventures, specially in this cut throat biz.
I was in it for years, then like some I said time to escape. Im all for your return, and hope you enjoy the time on the air. It gets in your blood and won't leave, I know only because now instead of trying to get on the air in a paid postion, I simply choose to do community radio, and believe this or not its a fun thing to do. I have some listeners and Im happy. Being employed in the automotive field, does pay the bills and much better than radio ever did ! Have fun Mikey, glad to hear your doing well.. Now can we get off of the WGST thread already? Nevermind, will never happen until the rest of the jealous bitterhearted too scared to try to get on the air
people find something else to do with thier time.. Geez, what a waste of time...
Get postive people, before you have hearts made of stone....
Thats all for now, from part 15 radio hell, have a great day........
Mikey Rose Returns..... Hooray.. Maybe a great talk show as well...

True, but even with "no signal" WGST had twice the adult listeners when Bruce Collins was PD than they currently have under Doomquist.

<<I knew there was a reason Mike Rose showed up on Kimmer's behalf at that assault hearing. Wonder what he'll get for appearing at the civil trial?>>

Hey Will, give it up. Your crazy cousin Alex "Prison Planet Radio" Jones has about as much chance of getting on GST as you do winning a civil trial!

Peterson hired his own court reporter to get all the sworn testimony, so about 5 minutes into your looney rambling, and you WILL contradict yourself, the case WILL get thrown out.

Even Ike Newjerk won't testify on YOUR behalf.

Face it, loser, you got your butt whooped by a guy who's so old his social security number is 2.

While we are facing hard facts, here's a couple more:

A plane hit the pentagon

Bush didn't kill Kennedy

Your so tough you got beat up by a guy with a plastic hip

Your criminal trial was a joke

WGST has had the same sucky signal, but they have lost ratings due solely on management errors

When Mike Rose worked there, they posted decent numbers with the same signal

That's one reason he got a show, and your never gonna have one

Please, don't reply with some stupid URL or a recommendation to read ' The New Pearl Harbor ' or other such claptrap.

Get some help.

This is hilarious, YOU should be getting the Sunday night show. Are you sure Bush didn't kill JFK?

<<Are you sure Bush didn't kill JFK?>>

Pretty sure....As much as anyone can be...

I love how the conspiracy nutz always point to things like " He doesn't remember where he was was JFK was shot!! That MUST mean he was in on it!!"

Those moonbats are pretty entertaining, though...

Talk about hilarious, all the hoop-la surrounding this tryout and not ONE person has posted a thing about what the show sounded like etc. That should make the previous 3 pages of nonsense null and void.

I thought it sounded great but this tryout was over a year ago. It recieved many reviews pro and con in June, 2005. I have a tape somewhere if anyone wants to listen.

I appreciate the attention but why does this keep coming up unless someone else wants to offer me the opportunity to do radio again.

Read Radio-Info in June, 2005 for more information.

His name is spelled Tom Houck. He is working in PR and Marketing if you need him for something.

OutofTowner...are you really going to use Bruce Collins as the high-watermarker for WGST?? From what I remember, the station wasn't exactly kicking ass and taking names under his reign either.

If you really want to talk about the station's heyday, you need to go back to 1991-1994 when they had the Braves, an FM simulcast, Sean Hannity, Ralph from Ben Hill, and most of all real management...not just dopey yes-men whose primary function was to carry water for that [EDIT] Marc Chase.

Wouldn't you agree, DUUUUDE?

[EDIT-namecalling]

Ralph has several opportunities to do a show WAOK but with his health issues it was not possible. I believe he is still living here in the Atlanta area with family.

Absolutely I agree. I was simply responding to postings that blame all of WGST woes all poor signal and that proven losers like Doomquist can make a bad situation much worse.Bruce Collins was far from the stations "high watermaker", but his adult ratings were indeed more than double the fraction above a one share they're now pulling. You're right, neither regime holds a candle to the glory days before Marc the [EDIT] Chase.

What about making David Paul the new PD of WGST?

He's scared of the mike, but 'offthe wall enough to OVERSEE some younger, edgier talent like Barron, and could probably help them along. David Paul was good a decade ago, maybe he could rub off some of his old magic on the new generation of talkers?

He's not too expensive, seeing as he's selling used cars now, you could probably get him committed for hlaf what they are currently paying thier PD that ain't getting the job done.

Desperate times call for desperate measures!

That's a good point. I think we can all admit that Bloomquist is an unmitigated disaster.

Not a bad idea, even DAVID PAUL would be less verbally abusive to employees than their current PD.
