MLB on Fox question

I'm shocked, not just at the distribution(who would've have thought that Cubs-Dodgers would be the main game over Yankees-Red Sox?) but also having Joe Buck on a game NOT featuring the Yankees or Red Sox.

Really? We are getting Cubs-Dodgers in the Upstate and the western Carolinas rather than Red Sox-Yankees? Only time that's happened was for the Braves.
I might not be at home but I can’t complain. That’s got to be a first.

I was going to say that Fox doesn't have the man-love of the Yankees/Red Sox that ESPN has, but Sunday Night Baseball will feature Cubs/Dodgers, NOT Yankees/Red Sox. I dunno why, but ESPN has aired NL games on Sunday nights almost exclusively this season. Yankees/Red Sox will be the Sunday game on TBS.

MLB does the schedule not the networks.
Surely the networks have the flexibility to substitute games in the latter stages of the season, especially if expected contenders flop or surprise contenders emerge, don't they?

Also, isn't there a limit on appearances on Sunday Night Baseball for teams in one season? I know ESPN is not required to show every team in both leagues, but it can't just keep following the Yankees and Red Sox around until three-quarters of the games it shows on Sundays feature one or both, right?

Fox is allowing the Astros and Tigers to air their second game of their doubleheader opposite the Fox games tonight. I thought Fox's coverage was excusive.

Well, it's only seven innings. Of course, so was a recent, very short, edition of Sunday Night Baseball, 1-0 game that was done almost before it started.

Seriously, there must be some sort of agreement in place between MLB and its TV partners to accommodate these hastily arranged doubleheader games.

Buck and Smoltz are live at Chez. If Angels are at home Matt V. can do Angels then get to Chez to do Cubs/Dodgers tomorrow night.
