MOJO to All Sports

Donald the city is over 50% African-American, but overall the market's around 16%. It doesn't help that this version of MOJO just wasn't very good. I mean, Pat Barry? Really?

Radio One is not a very smart run company either. Like most radio companies, they have no vision of the future. Pat Barry would be better on WGRR with Chis and Janeen.

97.7 probably doesn't have enough signal over the whole city to make this work.

I get them as good as 97.3 in Northern KY.

Wow. I haven't been so lucky. I usually spend a lot of time in Florence and..... not so much.
 
Where I am, I have no problem hearing them. I guess it depends on where you are. I can hear them in Florence although it is in mono. I wonder if they could apply for a translator to fill in the gaps in signal?
 
I am sure that they do a lot of music.

If i had an FM and was doing just talk with it, i'd probably turn off the stereo generator to aid reception in the fringes. Do you think listeners would object to this?
 
Most listeners probably wouldn't notice if they were in mono or not especially running a talk format with little music content. Loud and clear processing makes a big difference. I would bet that when 100.3 goes Sports Talk in January, they will turn off the stereo pilot.

Many of the talk syndicators uplink their show in mono. We send Dave Ramsey up in a mono signal as that is what is provided to us.
The only thing i think you lose is a little brightness. Processing can compensate for that, though. The bumper music doesn't sound as good, either.
 
In parts of Butler County, Mojo is unlistenable. In Hamilton, Fairfield, and Liberty Township, I've heard the 100.3 in Newark (I think) drown it out completely. I don't recall WWNK "Wink 94.1" being so badly shadowed from Price Hill. Drift away from I-75 in any direction, and Mojo is very spotty, unless you're on a hill.
 
Wink was also higher on the stick and more powerful by about 10x. 100.3 is on the WXIX tower. WIZ is on W 8th  Doesn't change the fact that 100.3 is a terrible signal. But it was designed to cover the city.
 
That 100.3 in Newark is also a full 50,000 watt class B signal that provides Columbus with one of its 4 country signals. In my city a class A 107.9 gets wiped out by a 50,000 watt class B in Huntington West Virginia.

With 104.3 WNLT now on the old WINK 94 tower, They are as strong or maybe a little stronger than 100.3.
