Not exactly a false claim - as long as there is enough signal to overcome bit errors. But I totally agree that the IBOC advocate's claim to immunity is overstated. If the signal is gone or corrupted enough, HD can and will drop out. You won't notice minor multipath, but when major happens - down goes the HD lock. And the time it takes to re-establish is considerably longer than the periodicity of airplane flutter. So as long as that plane is in the signal path - NO HD.
