Mark Neiado(?) Morning Traffic Reporter on KFRC and MOViN' 99.7 (Maybe other CBS Station as well, dunno)
I would guess his name is spelled "Nieto." That's what it sounds like to me.
But when he reports on KFRC he always ends by saying, "From the KCBS Traffic Center,....." But yet over on MOViN' he does not mention KCBS at all. How come? And both stations make it seem like he is actually in the studio with the morning personalities.
As someone who doesn't work there, I can give you my best guesses since a number of different scenarios would easily work...
It probably has to do with formatics...Mark probably mentions the KCBS Traffic Center on one station and not the other because either 1.) CBS doesn't own Movin', or 2.) if Movin IS CBS-owned, the PD (and/or GM) just doesn't want the KCBS Traffic Center mentioned on Movin' (but why, I haven't the foggiest).
Not knowing whether Movin' is CBS-owned or not, I don't know if Mark is actually in the Movin' studio. With KFRC, Mark could very well be literally "across or down the hall" at KCBS since THOSE two
are sisters and share a facility, and Mark would have the resources of KCBS at his command, and he either does his reports from 1.) another studio there at CBS, 2.) there
in the same studio, or if Movin' isn't CBS, 3.) via a dedicated phone line to Metro or Shadow from both stations (KFRC and Movin'). Any of those 3 ways would allow Mark to sound like he's sitting next to the Duke and Celeste. BUT, the third would make the most sense if Movin'
isn't a CBS property (why would another company want to promote CBS?), and Mark just mentions the KCBS Traffic Center on KFRC for cross-promotional purposes (this would be my guess). I don't listen to Movin' so I don't know his outcue there.
OK, now that you've read my theory and conjecture, how 'bout it CBS employees (who
would know what the hell you're talking about)?
