More Sports Talk in Boston

http://www.bostonradiowatch.com cites a Miami Herald article saying that Damon Amendolara of WQAM is heading up to Boston to do evenings (most likely?) at WBZ-FM, first night being next Fri, 8/14 (Pats game is Thu night)

>>WQAM evening host Damon Amendolara is leaving to become a host on a new FM sports station in Boston.
http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/story/1175081.html

A few weeks ago (around the week of baseball's All-Star Game, I believe), Damon hosted a few evening shows (auditions?) on WFAN-AM-660 New York "Sportsradio 66".

98.5 The Sports hub has a Twitter, a facebook, and a myspace as well as an official logo on the facebook and twitter. They link to www.985thesportshub.com and describe themselfs as "boston's first fm sports station".

can't find anything on the future "mix 104.1" as far as social networking. could this possibly mean something? an unexpected urban popup on 104.1? doubt it, everything seems etched in stone for mix to move to 104.1 but you never know...

Yeah nevermind lol, I keep seeing commercials on WBZ-TV saying "Mix is moving to 104.1!"... it's official!

DA aka Damon Amendolara is an awesome sports talker he is very precise BEANTOWN DEFINITLY gets a good guy

I like the idea of the Hardy and Trupiano show that is going to be on the weekends. It beats Mustard and Johnson, but dead air would beat that.

i like the idea as well i used to love when trup called the redsox games back inthe day. and hardy will be interesting to hear as a sports guy lol. hopefully he will keep his intro but prbrobly not!

I was listening to BCN at work today and on the drive home as well and it's kinda sad to see a heritage station leave the dial, even though most of their heyday was before my time. I'm glad CBS is going after (in my opinion) over-rated and predictable WEEI and I am definately going to check this station out! You have to admit though, a format change was due and BCN's ratings haven't been good in years but the heritage is was made CBS cling on.

On the Mix 98.5 website they refer to 104.1 as a "stronger signal", do they mean in Boston since the signal has a better punch there compared to 98.5? Or will there be some transmitter tweaks to make 104.1 stronger in the suburbs? Can't wait to see! :D

OK... I am just finding out about this last Saturday (I am a little behind the times) however I am upset because on Cape Cod I will no longer receive Mix but yet more sports talk radio as 96.3 is WEEI and 104.1 does not come in at all because the signal strength is overpowered by 103.9 .... as a matter of fact why do we need music on the radio at all? Why not broadcast sports and talk radio on every frequency. ::)
