Cumulus Mobile: 92.9, 97.5, 104.1, 660, 900
Cumulus Pens: 94.1, 100.7, 102.7, 106.1, 1370
CC Mobile: 94.9, 96.1, 99.9, 710
CC Pens: 101.5, 107.3, no AMs
Cumulus FWB: 93.3, 96.5, 99.5, 105.5, 1260
CC Biloxi: 92.5, 93.7, 99.1, 104.9, no AMs
I definitely don't think it should happen as the Mobile & Pensacola markets are really one in the same on the FM dial. But Cumulus just changed the COL for 104.1 to Semmes(?) in Mobile County in order to stay under the theoretical 5 station cap in Pensacola. It would seem that Cumulus could unload 660 and add yet another Mobile FM or CC could change a COL of one of their Mobile FMs to NW Florida and add another Mobile signal. Clear Channel Pensacola should be able to add two FMs and an AM.
All the Mobile-Pensacola, Cumulus and Clear Channel, FMs, with the exception of 106.1, are essentually the same in terms of power and coverage areas. I know you say it's tough to explain but since I thought I understood ownership caps and how Cumulus was exploiting loopholes and lax enforcement of FCC rules to completely dominate my radio dial I'm extremely curious why CC or Cumulus absolutely can not add another FM. Could someone at least point me in a direction of what factor I'm missing in my equation?
On the other hand, the only FM that either CC or Cumulus would want to add to their Mobile-Pensacola portfolio is 98.7.... the last locally owned Mobile-Pensacola 100kw FM signal.
