Morning Shake up at WILD!

Fay of the Strawberry in the Morning Show has been fired as of Friday!

Rumor is show was cancelled.....

If (1) Fay was fired and (+2) the show was cancelled, why (=3) wasn't Strawberry also fired?

Unless I missed something -- what are the odds!!! -- something doesn't add up.

Too bad about Fay...I can't comment on her on-air work because I never heard enough to know. But, I can say she was great to deal with regarding off the air stuff and was nice to just about everyone without being phony. Wonder if she'll go back to Miami now....

Nobody is anti-that station as much as I am considering how they screwed The Dog House.

However, where could they possibly put Strawberry if they don't fire him? I don't recall anyone who has been demoted from morning show to something else, other than Tim Liotta recently on KNBR.

What an ego buster it would be if he was sent back to nights, or worse--weekends.

Guess someone will have to listen Monday morning and find out, I know I won't.

Kiss-Fm "demoted" Renel from morning drive to afternoon drive for about 6 months, when they were running the Tom Joyner morning show. Compared to her high energy morning show, she sounded low key and depressed, though that might have been because Clear Channel management asked her not to do schtick in the afternoon.

Pretty funny about Renel...Research showed they lost 100 thousand listeners after they booted her to afternoons...whoops.

show at Clear Channel CHR/Rhythmic KYLD(Wild 94.9)/San Francisco as
The Strawberry in The Morning Show has disbanded. No official word yet

Maybe Wild should bring in Angel who is currently filling in
He would be a GREAT replacement!!!!!!

Angel sounds like a good guy.....but you don't replace a morning show with a weekender.

If you are going to shake things up, then you bring in a heavy hitter...but for this format no one "stern-like" exists. This sounds like another bad mismanagement move by Clear Channel.

Will they pipe in a show from another market? if so, what does that say about the state of radio when market #4 doesn't even have live local morning shows? They already have the Free FM mess with Carolla piped in and not doing anything. Most of the Free FM mess is syndicated.

Why??? Because the Clear Channels/Infinity's et., have forgotten in their chase to make the shareholders happy, they forgot to "CULTIVATE TALENT". Ooops...thats right...you need a PRODUCT TO SELL...and they wear suits to work. Idiots.

Strawberry was actually getting good numbers considering they were only on the air for one year. Why the move? Why now?

Sounds like a corporate cost cutting move, especially if they pipe something in.

acttuly in this market almost every morning show is local, only adam corlloa and the new whoopie show is syndicated.

It's typical Wild crap...

They can The Dog House because management has a hard-on, and wouldn't back them. Now they give Strawberry a shot, and don't even really give him a shot. I'm sure the target demos of the Latino community were listening, not to mention a lot of teenagers who just like their format.

I don't know what they can do...

A clear channel jock up here in Seattle who works for a Rythmic CHR mentioned his show was going to try syndication down there in San Fran. So that might be your answer as to who will be doing mornings at Wild. The guys name is T-Man and the stations website is kube93.com.
