OK, first you come on here and ask people to provide you with questions to ask Al Franken. This makes me wonder why you would invite someone on your show when you can't think of anything to ask him.
You also make it clear that your purpose is not to find out more about Franken, his life, his career, his viewpoints or even what makes the guy tick. You want to see if you can pound the guy.
Unfortunately, you are fighting way over your weight. Franken has spent his career in comedy clubs and he knows how to deal with hecklers.
Then you come back here crying about how your co-host ruined the interview.
Maybe your co-host was naive enough to have an open mind, just ask questions, let the guy talk and let the audience make up its mind about his answers. You know, like a real interview intended to elicit information.
I also find it curious that you are the program director, the regular host of the program working with a temporary co-host, and you can't control your program. Or maybe you are one of those people who never makes a mistake and it's always someone else's fault.
