MOVIN 107.5.....

OldGringo,

Thanks for the insight into the ratings.

I just wish there could be something done to bring back The Oasis. I know advertising is what pays the
bills, yet if people could realize a station like The Oasis is never going to be a solid # 1 station, but play
to the demographics of that station's listening audience, couldn't that be done?

I was extremely angry to hear that they pulled 107.5 The Oasis the other night. It came out of the clear blue, and all of a sudden there is this "Movin" station in its place!! I have been listening to Smooth Jazz since I moved to Dallas in 1997 and listened to it all throughout my 2nd pregnancy! (My kids even love it...or should I say-loved it). Who makes these decisions?? The radio stations in DFW basically suck, and 107.5 was the only worthwhile station here, and I know many, many people share my opinion. Luckily, there are some good Smooth Jazz stations on HD (Memphis is one), but I don't have HD in my car. I guess I will pull out my Boney James CD's and other smooth jazz CD's for the car. It would have been nice to have been given some sort of a vote or say so before removing such an awesome station. Shame on you, CBS Radio!!!!!!!!

Sirius 71 - The Jazz Cafe 8) Smooth Jazz with no commercials!

For all of you who are mourning the loss of 107.5 The Oasis, I suggest you send an e-mail to station management. There is a link now on the former website www.smoothjazz1075.com

Maybe if enough people complain they'll bring it back. But then again that would make sense so forget what I said.

Rob, you are correct... There were some protests and lots of message board rants about LA losing its only country music station to a Movin' format... taken off totally by surprise just like what happened to The Oasis. Can't fight the big corp on stuff like this.

Forget what I said about telling CBS corporate your opinion. Either the inbox is flooded or they're telling DFW to shut up and take it.
