MOViN Bites the Dust

Someone should try a "Movin Country" format. Just happy upbeat country songs without all the slow stuff. :)

Who'd listen to a country format that wasn't about hangovers, infidelity and spousal abuse?

Finally, another format stereotyped!.....

If a 1.7 25-54 is your definition of success, what do you call a failure? KZPS, by the way, has adjusted its format three times in as many years. That's not exactly a station I'd want above me, even if I'm within striking distance. KDGE, on the other hand, is doing better than Movin' in 25-54 by going after 18-34. Again, not a station I'd want above me in that demo.
I/m not sure I'd say 1.7 is a success, but it's also not the dismal failure that some people here make Movin out to be. the point I was trying to make is that their are long established stations in this market who aren't doing all that great in that "all important" 25-54 demo.

But okay, let's look at Adults 18-34. Movin has a 2.1 Edge has a 3.0, Eagle a 2.5, Mix a 2.8. So a station that hasn't been around long, that has done no marketing (that I"ve seen) is creeping within striking distance of a couple of the heavy hitter young adult stations (as opposed to the teen stations, Kiss,104, Beat, etc)

I don't KNOW if they're a success. I'm just not so sure I'd write them off as a dismal failure, as so many around here seem to want to do.

Actually, I was stereotyping its listeners.
