MT. WILSON FIRE THREAT?

Smoke from the Ca. fires have been drifting here into the Colorado Springs / Denver area for the last 3 days...amazing!

As Mt. Wilson truly was threatened, this thread on Radio-Info has been, what I've found, to be the greatest source of breaking news of them all. Several people coming together, watching live chopper video, listening to the radio, watching TV news or online print, were able to bring us up-to-date quicker than so many other sources.

A personal thank you to you, oaktree, because your coverage on this Mt. Wilson threat has been unbeatable. Your dedication, (news marathon) and diligence is remarkable. I know it has got to be appreciated by so many in this industry worried about their equipment and towers. Radio-Info is lucky to have you-- a true newsman, making Radio-Info Los Angeles the go-to place for the latest.

Per the "CGC Communicator" email newsletter ...

Station personnel are being permitted back on Mt. Wilson. It's still considered an active fire zone, so things could still change ... but it's looking very good.

An escorted convoy of need-to-be-there folks will be allowed onto Mt. Lukens tomorrow (Thursday) for a few hours.
