Music Tweak @ The Beat-SA

Yeah.. other than a few songs... KTFM, Mix, and The Beat have the same basic playlist. Something's going to have to give eventually because I don't see SA sustaining three CHRs. Very fun times in store for San Antonio radio.

They did twice once in 2003, and during 1986-1991. I could forsee this. But Austin's 102.3 the Beat plays CHR tracks mixed in. The Hip Hop branding is like Alternative's demise in the mid late 90s as many Hot ACs played Alternative tracks, as your Rock formatted stations. Take KISS for example 311, Nirvana, Garbage, and Weezer played on 945 the Buzz Houston's Alternative rocker at the time, also played on KISS.

Is it just me or is 98.5 The Beat almost all rhythmic-leaning CHR now? I wonder how much longer they will brand themselves as "Number 1 for Hip Hop and R&B"

It looks like The Beat is now using the slogan- "#1 For The Most Hip Hop and R&B"
a slight change from "#1 For Hip Hop and R&B"
