MY 106.1

Good point...It would def hurt Q102...maybe Wired 96.5 can steal it ;).....actually I wasn't thinking about the clusters other stations....maybe an active rock station..but it prob wouldn't crack the top ten....

When 96.5 signed on with its current format, it was called "Wild 96.5." IIRC, Clear Channel said they had a trademark on "Wild," so the station quickly changed to "Wired."

Clear Channel has Q102, Power 99, and 104.5 in the cluster with 106.1. They aren't going to do CHR, and they aren't going to do active rock.

I meant the format not the name. Wild Wired it makes no difference to me.

So the June PPM is in and My's numbers went up again and the cume is doing great. I wonder if they are regretting those tweaks they made at the end of the month? We will find out when the July numbers come in.

Personally, I'm not too fond of the stations direction - leave the B101 soft rock tunes off the playlist please! I come for the disco and Ke$ha, but punch out whenever I head Buble.

Agree 100%. The station just got a whole lot more "boring" when they added the soft rock, it doesn't go with the rest of the style of the music/imaging/etc. I wish they would drop the slow jams, too.

I did hear it... But why dose it seem EVERY station is playing Michael Buble?? LMAO!, He fits into just about everything hell W.H.A.T. plays him (I THINK WOGL did a few times as well??) but If it's done well, And it should be (Most of the time clear channel is good) then the small changes will make a good difrence, the only thing I don't want to see is it "Becoming" a Q102 or something stupid like that!

Any thoughts on the recent tweaks to MY 106.1? They have started playing pop/soft rock material such as Train and Michael Buble. I don't think this station could legitimately be called a Rhythmic AC anymore. Quite disappointing as I think, done right, it's a format that could do quite well in Philly.

Michael Buble's song has become one of the surprise songs of the year. But just before he scores once doesn't mean it'll happen again. This song will run its life and disappear from the Q102 airwaves forever.

I listened to the station last nite for at least 30 mins. And no doubt they have changed the music.
The playlist is similar to WPST(94.5) and WIOQ. 106.1 is playing more dance, top 40 tunes. Other words, went from competing with 98.1 to going up vs. 102.1 or 94.5. Now, they need to change
either the call letters or the moniker. Lastly, would like Logan JUST on pm. drive. I'm sure their are
plenty of out-of-work disc jockeys; Jesse Jordan(ex of 102.1) could work middays, Tommy Jordan
(ex of WPST) could work morning drive. Thus, Logan and Socia are the rest; 2/3-7 and 7-12. Lastly, who ever is the Music Director needs to leave the format as is for at least one year and see where their ratings go, ie. lots of advertising.

Bring EAGLE back to 106.1.. Then you get Lander Back to Do The Nut Hut Morning show.. I say if your gonna do the music, recreate the sound aswell.. Dont go half Azz, and while at get either Kim Ashley & Glenn Calina on there..

It's been gone for, what, 17 years now? Another "back to the future" experiment would be little more than fodder for the few radio geeks who would care about a name gone for nearly a generation (and it's not as though the Sunny reboot lit the world on fire).

As for Lander, we've also seen how the return of the classics never quite lives up to the orignal, as tastes change and people move on. But even if you assume the nearly impossible outcome of him getting the full audience he had back again--made more challenging by replacing anyone who was in the target demo before but has since aged out--you're back with the problem Eagle had upon its demise: a popular morning show and nothing to follow it. Anyone remember the situation at the time it died? Eagle had traded a middling morning slot with a parade of seat fillers but a strong rest of the day for good morning numbers and...bupkus. Even 17 years ago, the time came to put an end to that, and the market has only grown more challenging.

It's over, buried and done. Nothing substantial is to be gained by pretending it's still the early 1990s.

Isn't that what WYSP had with Stern and, to a lesser extent, has now with Bonaduce?

At times, WYSP had that problem (perhaps looking worse because Stern was so far beyond anyone else that everything else couldn't help but pale in comparison), though they had their period of being more competitive in the rest of the day as well. As for Bonaduce, is he still there? ;)

Another month, and another slip in ratings and cume for My 106.1

The Hot AC flirtation has failed. How long will they let it go? They sounded great over Labor Day weekend, that's exactly how they should have kept the music. Or take a look at KTU in NY, which is doing a great job with the format.

MY106.1 has taken yet another tweak towards Hot AC, they have recently added a bunch more soft rock tracks. Take a look at this sample hour and explain to me how they could even be considered a Rhythmic AC anymore:

1:03 AM TRAIN Hey, Soul Sister 2009 C
1:07 AM FOUR SEASONS December 1963 (Oh What...) '94 1994 G
1:11 AM SUGAR RAY Every Morning 1998 G
1:14 AM MAROON 5 Misery 2010 C
1:18 AM MEN AT WORK Who Can It Be Now? 1982 G
1:21 AM CROW, SHERYL Soak Up The Sun 2002 G
1:24 AM AGUILERA, CHRISTINA Genie In A Bottle 1999 G
1:30 AM LAUPER, CYNDI Girls Just Want To Have Fun 1983 G
1:33 AM STEFANI, GWEN Rich Girl 2005 G
1:37 AM MAYER, JOHN Waiting On The World To Change 2006 G
1:41 AM DEEP BLUE SOMETHING Breakfast At Tiffany's 1994 G
1:45 AM BLIGE, MARY J. Be Without You 2005 G
1:49 AM LADY GAGA Paparazzi 2008 R
1:52 AM MADONNA Borderline 1984 G
1:56 AM BRAXTON, TONI Un-Break My Heart 1996 G

My106.1 doesn't seem to have a format anymore. The format is anything that tests well with women 18-34. That seems to me, an amateur, like a backwards way to program.
