MY 1079 DOOMED TO FAILURE

I salute the attempt to do some more creative imaging and some promotions...HOWEVER...could someone there please have the promo re-cut that talks about an easter egg hunt at SAHM'S Park? It's Sahm Park. Sahm's is a restaurant. Wanna sound local? Get the names right.

Yst. afternoon their sister station WXNT was running Easter egg hunt liners about 10 times per hour. Occasionally they even ran them back to back. That on top of their back-to-back Abdul promos makes me wonder if anybody there actually listens to what they're putting over the air. This is not a high cume format, so why chase the few listeners they have away? It would be much more listenable if they just left the syndication satellite hot, go to dead air and not worry about sticking in overly repetive liners and weather. Actually they do leave it hot sometimes, but not by design.

There's a compelling story with Radio Disney, the local promotional arm of the largest entertainment company in the world, providing local access to the brand.

Yeah, I would be interested in knowing more. I see their vehicle parked out front of a nice looking building in Carmel though the stick is way out in Avon. Can they even pick up such a weak signal in their own office? Maybe someone who works there (and goes by "mouseman") could fill us all in.

Hoosier45guy - I saw your note, and was surprised. You sound yourself sound like somebody in the know, with all the chatter about vans in Carmel parking lots and transmitters in Avon - why are you asking me about this particular station if you already know?? Although, I must say I cannot imagine any transmission problems like you're suggesting; as i drive around town, up towards Layette, west to Brazil, east to Greenfield on I 74, south almost to Bloomington, my family has never had any reception problems in our car. Maybe you've got a cheap radio there slick. ;D

I do know my family listens to Radio Disney in our vehicles on Sirius XM and at home on DirecTV as well as over the internet and cell phone app. Four ways to tune in that are not a rimshot FM. Do local advertisers know we can't hear their inserted commercials?

Well hoosier45 guy, like I said, when my family [we're big Disney fans - "Mouseman"] listens to Radio Disney in our car all around Central Indiana we don't have any problems getting it, so I don't see any reason to pay for those subscription services when I get it everywhere for free.

Sure seems like a lot of high profile companies advertise on this station - they can't all be as dumb as your implying [although that assumes that your comments about the station's signal were in fact true - again, I get it fine - maybe you need a new radio]. I'm sure they have all the information on hand they need to make these decisions when it comes to millions of dollars.

For my family, it's probably the only station in town safe enough for everyone to listen to - I guess that's why so many of those companies who are advertising are on there - to be associated with a clean, safe radio station. And my family has shopped at a number of those businesses who are advertising, so i guess those businesses are getting results from the money they spend advertising.

All seems good to me - I'm not sure why you seem to be so negative about it? ??? ;D

Anyway, like I said, buying a new radio is probably cheaper than all that other stuff you're doing to listen. :p
