My bet is on Sunny...

that they will flip to Christmas, er I mean Holiday music at the stroke of midnight on November 1st. Another year of beating my brains out in the upcomming holiday season after hearing the same song by 20 different artists and groups, multiplied by 20. There's your 200 song playlist.

In that case, I will play a Christmas song, Friday morning October 30 at 5:20AM. That way, like last year, I will be the 1st to play a Christmas song on Houston radio.

Oh I am sooo glad there is not a big cache of Halloween music. Everybody makes such a big _____ing deal about that non holiday, I am sure they would play Halloween music for two months, too. its bad enough to have to see all the B----- movies all month long.

You know Sunny is a sure bet when the only thing I had to do was look at the subject of this thread and knew the question before I read it!!!

I don't look for Sunny to flip to all Christmas music until mid-November, at the earliest, but I could be surprised. ;)

Agreed. One can only hear "Ghostbusters," "Thriller" and "Monster Mash" for so long before they start pulling their hair out...

How about "I Put a Spell On You" by screaming Jay Hawkins? Change of plans here. I'll play that on October 30th and move the Christmas song to October 29th at the same time. That song will be "Santa Claus Is Back In Town," by Elvis Presley.

I predict that one of the HD2 channels will carry Christmas songs instead of the 'real' radio this year.

My opinion is that Sunny will be the first, Mr Stan some other station might play Christmas music on hd2 but I believe Sunny will play it on (What you called ) real radio.

I kind of wondered if an HD2 or HD3 station would go all Christmas this year. Sunny will indeed play Christmas music this year on HD1. Same holds true for next year and the next, and the year after that. As long as Sunny is around, Christmas music will be a part of their format each year. Sunny's numbers are always highest when they flip to all-Christmas. I couldn't imagine that trend not continuing, unless someone else besides KSBJ goes against them for Christmas song superiority.

Mr Texmex2007, did you read my previous post? I will be the 1st to play a Christmas song at 5:20AM on October 29th. Now, lets put this foolishness of who is going to be the 1st to play a Christmas song to bed. This thread appears every year.

Today is the day. I will play Elvis Presley's "Santa Claus Is Back In Town" at 5:20AM. Thus, once again, I will play the 1st Christmas song of the season. I will mention Radio-Info board this morning. Peace!

Mr Ric, as Mel Brooks said in "History Of The World, Part 1," i't's good to be the king!' If you start at the beginning of this thread you will understand why I did it.

Thank you Chuck, now I can put my tree up and not feel goofy!
