My FM Strathroy testing

CJMI "My FM" is now on the air at 105.7 FM, in the testing stage. Although the station was (supposedly) not supposed to reach London, I am receiving a perfect signal in the Byron area of the city's southwest, and I know of at least one person near Fanshawe College in the east end of the city that is also picking up the signal to a degree. There is no interference with CHJX (Grace FM) on 105.9, and 105.9 is not experiencing spillover from CJMI either.

The music is awful though. I've never listened to the other My FM stations in Eastern Ontario, but the station is playing the usual modern noise that everyone else is already playing. Sarnia's CHOK has switched from oldies to country in the last two weeks, and I doubt it's a coincidence, since their AM 1070 signal is strong in Strathroy and there's already another oldies signal available there, CFCO 630 from Chatham. CJMI is going to have a big uphill battle to gain an audience.

On that note, I wonder how CIHR "Heart FM" in Woodstock is doing up against The Hawk, CKOT, and the London and Kitchener stations.

I'm not sure about MY fm, but I believe Byrns Media did their homework and researched the Woodstock/Oxford market well.
It is to my understanding that they also did a music test in the area and found that the format they chose works best for the audience they've chosen to go after.
(females 25-54, I believe...)

I don't know how well My Broadcasting Corp. researched their format, but I know bigger, more established companies such as CHUM are very skilled at this (save for the Team disaster of a few years ago). I'm not surprised Byrnes researched Woodstock well because the music on Heart FM is actually half decent.

Doesn't My FM simulcast the same music on all its stations, with origination out of Renfrew?

I'm not sure about the simulcast.
I thought some of the My FM's were on their own, using the "Scott system" or some other form of local in house automation.
I could be wrong though...
