My K-Rock Playlist

They ignored my first one...it was all alternative music. I've given up the dream. So now I turn to progressive...quite honestly, I'd be completely fine if they omitted any song from after 1980, but I think they have to play it to be current.

This one is a burna:
1. Jethro Tull - New Day Yesterday
2. At The Drive In - One Armed Scissor
3. Pink Floyd - Have a Cigar
4. Pearl Jam - I got Id
5. Led Zepplin - For Your Life
6. Muse - Knights of Cedonia
7. Cream - Tales of brave Ulysees
8. The Mars Volta - Cassandra Gemini - A. Tarantism
9. Arctic Monkeys - If You Were there Beware
10. Santana - Hope You're Feeling Better

let me know what you think.

not a bad list...Jethro Tull kicks ass, although k rock would probably aqualung and teacher

And here's the unofficial music snob playlist that K-Rock probably wouldn't play:

Hotel Yorba by the White Stripes
Where Is My Mind? by the Pixies
The Ballad of Mott the Hoople by Mott the Hoople
Such Great Heights by the Postal Service
Sweet Jane by the Cowboy Junkies
Tomorrow Never Knows by the Beatles
Shine a Light by the Rolling Stones
Intervention by the Arcade Fire
The Drugs Don't Work by the Verve
2000 Light Years Away by Green Day

Actually, this is probably how 101.9 should sound as a supposed "adult rock" station.

P.O.D. - Southtown, school of hard knocks

its all kool 8)

and yea i am serious...that always has been my favorit song...although i tend to lean more on the heavier side of the active rock format...as you can see from my list...with the exception of zeppelin and floyd...and the gnr tune

And this is all a classic example of how this won't work. How is any band/song supposed to break through this clutter? Sure, the idea of everyone playing what they want sounds great, but why should listen to someone else's playlist when I can listen to mine whenever I want? How am I supposed to find out about new music if the "Rock" station in town just re-cycles the "tried and true" hits (albeit, a deeper library this time around)?
