My K-Rock Playlist

My playlist rocks, but as i suspected, it hasn't or will not get played.
1. Mudvayne - King of Pain
2. Killswitch Engaged - Holy Diver
3. Chevelle - I Get It
4. Godsmack - Re-Align
5. Godsmack- Straight Out of line
6. Disturbed - Ten Thousand Fists
7. Disturbed - Stricken
8. Drowning Pool - Step up
I can't remember the last 2, but my list Rocks! Many of you will agree that K-Rock back in the day used to play these artist regularly.

This is a playlist from a few hours from Z103.3 in Minnesota. Nothing beats their mix (more appropriate for RXP than K-

A town of less than 15,000 can afford to be that wide. Especially when they're the only show.

I sent in a harder edge playlist as well for the heck of it. Not sure it will get played, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try...

Foo Fighters: Baker Street
Tool: Anema
Nirvana: School
Black Sabbath: Hole in the Sky
Rollins Band: Low Self Opinion
Soundgarden: Jesus Christ Pose
Led Zeppelin: The Rover
Guns N Roses: Sympathy for the Devil
Deftones: Mein
Alice in Chains: Got me Wrong

I can't remember the last 2,

Maybe because listening to the previous 8 caused significant brain damage! ;D

And this is all a classic example of how this won't work. How is any band/song supposed to break through this clutter? Sure, the idea of everyone playing what they want sounds great, but why should listen to someone else's playlist when I can listen to mine whenever I want? How am I supposed to find out about new music if the "Rock" station in town just re-cycles the "tried and true" hits (albeit, a deeper library this time around)?

It doesn't matter. K-Rock is cherry picking playlists that fit what they want to play anyway. Then they hack off the four least radio freindly songs. Then they call the humps who put the playlists through to get a soundbite before the list almost as if to convince their listeners, "Hey this music is still cool, someone still likes it, so maybe you should too...you're cool, right? Well so is "Forty-Six and Two, and if you have a problem with that then you aren't like our listeners." Which, I guess I am different from their listeners: I have some disposable income.

When is K-Rock going to understand its target demo is tapped out?
