Yes, because after all everybody remembers that massive gold smash by Andy Morris. ::)

Each station has it's fans and it's all good. There is no need to rip on stations for what they play because we can all pick apart one anothers playlists or logs but at the end of the day what does it get you.

You mentioned that one because its the ONLY one there questionable. However I see many questionable ones on ALL the other lists.

Questionable to your tastes perhaps but these other stations (Energy 98, Fusion, iParty) do quite well and do research the songs that they play for their audience. Again, it may not be your taste and that's cool but the stations you are trying to pick apart are some of the most listened to dance stations in the world, period.

jp

we all know that research and stuff that charts is crooked. I don't understand how I'm picking anything apart by announcing a winner. Isn't that how it is done? Point out the flaws and the one with the least wins? I mean, does anybody really want to hear these songs in 2010?

Beyonce - Ring the Alarm (Freemasons Edit)
Madonna - Sorry (Radio Edit) [2006]
CIARA - 1,2 Step f/Missy Elliott [2004]
Jenna Drey - By The Way (Al B Rich Radio Edit)
Mariah Carey - Through The Rain (Hex-Mac Edit)
Britney Spears - Womanizer (Kaskade Remix FDP Edit)
And She Said... [Valentin Radio Mix] Lucas Prata

I'm sorry, but thats wack! Immediate tune out. And do you favor the others because they play more Robbins than Alan? lol

Gusto, I think you missed the point of the sample hours posted. It shows that each station is different yet shares some titles. I can't speak for any of the other stations, but Energy 98 is a COMMERCIAL dance hits station. Our music has to have commerical appeal. We all have an audience. There are no winners or losers. Well, except for electricfm 'cuz Chris didn't want to post his hour. After I called him out for copying all of our currents/golds he changed his website to only show his top 10 and last 3 played and blocked my IP's from streaming his station to track his titles. He's trying to do more on his own now, but still puts in a song or two that we started when no other station is playing. I guess his 'research' is finding out what we're playing. hehe. Maybe calling him out here will get him to participate?? Just having fun Chris. Don't go ITpostal on me.

Picking a "winner" is a meaningless task. You took a shot at the stations that were playing songs that you feel you wouldn't want to listen too. Again, nothing wrong with not wanting to hear those songs yourself but those records do work for those stations, mine included. Also, nice try on the shot about Robbins but since I left there over a year ago it falls kind of flat. ;)

Something that you may or may not realize is that internet stations have had the ability to tell when people tune out way before the PPM ever came about. So, I'll speak on my station and the people that listen to it, they don't have a problem with the Gold that I listed in my sample hour. The tuneouts on the records like Jenna Drey is virtually zero. Maybe the variety of the songs played on each of the stations is why each is successful in it's own way.

Some dance stations play early 2000's and even 90's on rotation like Original Hot 97, Pulse 87, and others. There's nothing wrong with hearing a tune from a few years ago. 8)

I usually don't post on the boards that's why I didn't post my hour. ;) Below is my hour for the date and time. I only blocked IP addresses which were excessively polling our Shoutcast servers so unless you were polling us every 30 seconds, you shouldn't have been blocked. Aren't I still banned from your site too from 2009? :) For the website, the chart was reduced to the Top 10 in response to some L365 stations. I'll probably put more in the chart when our new site comes out in a month or so. For the obscure golds that matched 98's, you can thank listening to e98 all the time back in my college days. :)

I love Golds, even ones from the 80's, but not the fluff filler stuff that didn't even make noise 5 years ago. If you're gonna play a gold, play something that gets your attention!

One more thing - I'm stuck in Las Vegas until Saturday, so I have a lot of time to post here. What does that mean to you?...Bring it! :p

whatever dude. just because i'm not a fan of Energy 98 doesn't mean I have a lack of taste. but if you wanna think that, then I guess I'm better off talking to the wall. I'm sure plenty of readers can agree with me. But i wouldn't expect the hardcore posters to, since they are all in the same "family."
