A while back, someone on the board brought up a question that I thought was quite interesting of which radio stations we'd love to see change their format content. Here's my two cents.
104.7 WZZK becomes 104.7 the storm, playing the biggest mix of alternative rock, without all the rap and pop music.
97.3 WNCB new country 97.3 returns to the Oldies format and becomes 97.3 the Biggy, playing all the hits that made it big from the 50's 60's and the 70's, including the disco and on up into the pop charts even through 1979.
101.7, WBEI other known as B 101.7 becomes WCTA, the Crimson Tide archive station, playing nothing but Bama football games passed and present 24 hours a day 7 days a week, wins only.
1160 WJRD becomes Lifetalk 1160, a Christian talk radio station covering issues from peer pressure, temptation and so on, as well as carries Tuscaloosa church services.
95.3 the Bear becomes Timeless Classics 95.3, playing all the old favorites like they use to play on that frequency.
94.1 wzbk becomes 94.1 the Pacaderm, playing Bama's best classic country.
wrtr 105.9 remains classic rock, but picks up Bama football broadcasts.
102.5 the bull remains country, but becomes Dixieland 102.5, Birmingham's real country variety.
106.9 the point becomes Kics 106.0, your connection to the eighties.
WYSF, Y 94.5 continues the soft rock, but drops the Christian music they are playing and picks back up on the songs they've quit playing such as Sexual Healing and Into the night. Drops John Tesh and picks up Delila.
wbhm, the classical music station becomes 90.1 the Messenger, playing southern gospel 24 hours a day, competing with wxjc.
WRAX, the x at 100.5 moves back to 107.7 and HOt 107.7 moves to 100.5 and changes its format to WJOX fm.
