NANCY AND JEFF...JEFF FIRED

There are six that I know of. I can't say who they are due to my employment.
Six may turn to seven in the next 9 months or so. The new guy Chris is already feeling uncomfortable. They have him slaving over the board and her beloved Frodo next to her side. Frodo is the only guy she'll keep unless she finds out what he says behind her back to others in the hallways.

"the new guy Chris is already feeling uncomfortable"... Really?? Did Chris tell you that or is it another one of our Gandy moles/cancers/problem starters/whatever?? I know..I know it just isn't any fun if there isn't drama right ;D
Chris went back up to Louisville to settle things up there. He's in the building and starting on Monday. Everything I have says the show will be called "Nancy and Chris in the Morning".

r

BR, Are you implying that she's easy to work with? Even clients ask if she's a handful.

You know I'm not a trouble maker. We've worked together a few years, even though we don't see each other often. I'm not a cancer, I just tell it like it is.

Chris made comment to someone. It was more of an inquiry probing into her demeanor. He was well aware of her rep before he came here.

Come on BR, you've got them, use them. You know that poor guy is going to realize what's going on after a few months. There are a few of us that have dropped hints, we just hope he'll be ready for it. He really is a nice guy.
We don't want him having to walk out like Mike did a few times. If you're about to get dumped on, wouldn't you want to know?

Hey man...I can assure Chris is well aware of the rumors...DUH..Who isn't. Never worked with Nancy so I don't know. I can assure you if you talk to anyone who worked with me I'm a pain in ass too . I just tend to expect too much of people so I'm told which is B.S.. If you're still here after all that's gone down you better bust your ass . Who knows my friend you might be surprised of what is ahead.....

r

You're not a pain in the ass Riggs. Everyone I know in sales loves you. You're focused and hard working, and yet you still are gracious and courteous, unlike some woman in the building. You expect out of people what you put in, which is hard work. As far as what's ahead, nothing surprises me anymore here. I'm used to seeing things happen over the last few years. It's just a shame when good people come here that put forth the effort to help the cluster, and then their shot down with no one to stick up for them. It sucks. :-\

Can I get an AMEN in the house? For those that don't work with Rig, let me tell you he is a PRO and a joy to be around. 8)

That said, I wonder how people would feel about Nancy if she wasn't a woman. If Nancy was male and you applied her career track record, would you feel the same? ::)

Just a thought...

Wow... that's a really good point. Just because Nancy's a woman, people thinks she's a bi**h. But if she were a guy, people would think she's a raging a**hole.

You don't get to be a bitch OR an asshole without cause. Talent is as talent does, but talent doesn’t have to be dubious. Nancy has caused our cluster more problems than any other radio personality than you know. Yes, Bubba was fired because of an FCC violation and crudeness ON AIR, but lasted only a few years. MJ’s had a few things in the past comparable. She has pissed off more clients, listeners, and co-workers than anyone here. I'm in the same class she is. It's difficult to earn your place when you're looked down upon from the neanderthals. Not all men are alike, but those of you know who I'm talking about. When we make a move forward, she takes us two steps back.
You can be confident, proud, and talented, but what good does it do if you step on everyone after you've made it.
You don't hear nasty roomers about Ellen, Paula Deen, Whoopi, Celine Dion, Angelina Jolie, or Oprah...but you do hear them about Martha Stewart, Rosie O'Donnell, and Keira Knightley. Why? Because if you’re a nasty person, that's what you exhibit regardless of talent, or status (man or woman). So do you want a smart, talented, bitch to represent your company, or a smart, talented compassionate person to represent? Which one is better for building a bond with the people who listen and clients? Hmm.

It is possible to be talented, successful and gracious. Tedd, Sharon and Jack all are a joy to deal with. Steve Duemig has also been nothing other than courteous and gracious. It can be done.

You've got that right Fivestar. With the freeze that's happening, and some of the things we were told today, there may be more big upsets here in Tampa. Maybe a woman overboard?
Karma?

The same thing that's making news across the country. CC has their "freeze" on, and the fact that they're pushing out the ones that make the big bucks, that aren't bringing in the big bucks. It's no surprise that they're downsizing, they've been doing that for a while, but now they may start giving the boot to those that can't cut it anymore. Read the other boards, do the math.

There are big changes on the way. Just in time to, she's done enough damage here.
I still have people asking me if she "still hits the bottle". It's embarrassing.
I've been here for over 4 years and I'm starting to look elsewhere, just in case.

Stop! I appreciate the compliments in earlier quotes, but this "random acts of crap" have to stop. If you are who I think you are, the best thing to do right now is get behind your team. We all have our little quirks - some bigger than others, but the people you work with are a team. You have to find the positive and concentrate on that. Manning couldn't have helped the Giants win the Superbowl w/o the rest of his teammates.
Stop stirring the pot and figure out how to counter the questions or allegations about different members of the team. People know what's going on, its up to you to make it positive. It helps the station and makes you look better to the listener/Client.
As I've said before, there are many great talents at that cluster, causing a negative outlook for people only convolutes things.
Let's make radio shine, we're all in this together.

Jeff, I'm just telling it like it is. I thought it was a crappy thing that happened to you and from my end sounds like you could have had a major lawsuit against CC. I respect what your trying to say about getting behind the "team" but when the quarterback is throwing the game, what else do you do?
Radioville - Chris is doing OK for the time being...I give it 4 months. Poor guy doesn't know what he's in for - or I should say I'm sure he can turn this thing around and everything will be great. ::)

Jeff, whose butt are you trying to kiss? They fired you and you stick up for them like they are gonna take you back. Im sure your talented but the way things are going now, you might as well find a safer business to be in like maybe selling cars?

For me, it’s not a matter of going back or not. It’s a matter of friendship and professionalism.
Come on radio guy. Put yourself in the shoes of some of the good people who are still there. Regardless of what happened to me, I hope nothing happens to them. You wouldn’t want your friends to fall just because you did, would you?
What CC Tampa did to me was a favor. The situation was deteriorating to a point that would have been ugly for all involved if it would have continued. Ya, I have some bitterness about it, but why spread it around...why dump on the world, what we have too much of already?
Do they make good money selling cars??? “Now back to you Newsguy”.

I feel ya Jeff. I was quite bitter with the way things went down for me in that building, but I had to let it go too. I still get a little pissed when I wake up and schlep through single digit wind chills here in the Mid Atlantic region to get to my non radio gig here in Downtown DC. On days like that I really miss the Florida sunshine, not soo much radio though. I don't think I'll be back in that biz full time (I am working part time for Bonniville's 3WT here in DC) not atleast until the big corporations learn to treat their talent. By the way, I have no faith that that day is comming any time soon.

But then again there is the 150 Million Megga Millions drawing tonight. I noticed a billboard as I was on my way to work this morning. Maybe I'll get out the crow bar out and pry a buck from my wallet and wagger it on that. Then I could buy a station and treat my talent like crap! LOL! Y'all know I would never do that to talent. Down with the evil empire!!! Good, I had to get that out of my system. Now I must go put on my ear muffs, scarf gloves and hat to schlep my way to Union Station to grab a burger for lunch. TTFN

Hey Bigmike, thanks for the nod. Good luck with the lotto - 3, 17, 29, 34, 40, 62 those are my six. If you or anyone else

uses those numbers and hits it big, you better dam well adopt me or I'll kick ya in the teeth!
