Re: Cumulus confirms WNSH 94.7 and National Brand beyond Radio
One of the most important aspects of having a country station based in New York City is the boost it will give to the entire area country music scene. I would not be surprised at all if new country music clubs and dance halls open, particularly in NJ, based on their ability to promote on Nash FM. There could also be more tours from the major stars coming though the area, for the same reason.
Would this ambitious new event have been offered if there was no NYC country station to promote it? I don't know, but it is an example of the opportunities for cross promotion: http://tasteofcountry.com/2013-music-festival-announcement/
I think it is interesting that Cumulus looks at country music as not simply a format, but as a lifestyle that can promoted through various media.
