Perhaps....the rules of the game need to be changed again??? I doubt that I'm the only radio listener around here who feels that the many of the radio stations could use a "voice lift?"

MEA CULPA....This is what happens when I write stuff without the benefit of coffee! Sorry for the error!

I think the point I was trying to make was that not every musician can instantly transform himself (or herself)into a radio jock! I was one of the luckier ones---since I was able to do both jobs (on-air work during the day and stage performer at night) simulataneously.

It's kind of sad what's happening with Nassau stations .It's time to realize it's New Hampshire not New Jersey . Got to give them credit for trying

It's kind of sad what's happening with Nassau stations .It's time to realize it's New Hampshire not New Jersey . Got to give them credit for trying but let's cut some fat from the top and give people that need work jobs

AMEN!

Here's something else to consider? WHO is actually bringing in the dollars that keep a radio station (or a group of stations) ALIVE? Is it a GM? The sales staff? A particular talent...or specific format?

While it's easier for a few current broadcasters to answer: ALL OF THE ABOVE, I know that most radio stations usually have 2 or 3 'core players' who are keeping their frequency "active" (and not dying) in the market?

Am I mistaken about this? Or have the "suits" who run the big conglomerates basically written staff members off with the single sentence: "THAT'S THEIR JOB & WE CAN REPLACE THEM WITH SOMEBODY ELSE TOMORROW!"

My question is....is that "somebody else" necessarily better?
