NBC Announces 2008-2009 Schedule

I vaguely recall reading something somewhere that Las Vegas had been cancelled.

That is correct. Las Vegas was cancelled -- as were:

1 vs. 100
Amne$ia
Bionic Woman
Clash of the Choirs
Journeyman
My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad
Phenomenon
quarterlife
Scrubs
The Singing Bee

I am surprised Clash Of the Choirs was so-called "cancelled", since it ran only for a week (if that) around the holidays -- when we're subjected to (mostly) reruns anyway. Just like that "Baby Hit Me One More Time" that aired for several weeks during the summer a few years ago.

 ??? I thought 1 vs 100 was coming back in the summer...?

Didn't it have good ratings?

I've never heard about there having been a plan for 1 Vs. 100 to come back in the summer, even before the new schedule was released.

It drew decent, non-spectacular ratings--certainly better than Amnesia or Identity--although on a low usage night. Unlike Deal or No Deal (whose continued popularity continues to amaze me), it probably didn't seem to NBC executives that it could be a strong player on the schedule, so they went in another direction.

Hmmm...I still see room for 1 vs 100 some place.
I hope they have some unaired copies they can toss on, if need be.
That would be smart.

I love the other gameshows too, and would love to whine about their absence as well, but the elimination of 1 vs 100 still honestly amazes me.
I can only guess another network is planning a recycle of 1 vs 100 very soon in some way shape or form.

I wish NBC would make To Catch A Predator it's own show and let Datleine go back to reporting hard news. It could compete with Cops on Saturday night.

I'd like to see more real game shows in primetime too...but there doesn't seem to be a huge audience. Duel looked promising to me, but tanked big time. Amnesia..best forgotten. We'll see if the celebrity Family Feud does well, and what comes of Million Dollar Password. For now, though, the steady bets look like just Deal or No Deal and Smarter than a 5th Grader, with some Price is Right specials mixed in.

I can guarantee none of the major networks will pick up 1 vs 100 no matter whan NBC does or doesn't do with it--there are countless other ideas they can pick rather than pick up someone else's castoff.
