NBC Cancels "Paul Reiser Show" After Two Episodes

NBC really seems to be snake-bitten right now. I follow network programming somewhat closely, and I wasn't even aware of this show. I'm not blaming it on lack of promotion, but frankly, I have so little reason to watch NBC lately, I would have missed the promotion.

Wow, I've actually seen both episodes. The first one wasn't that bad, but the second one was bad enough to warrant its cancellation.

i don`t care for the basic low key style of current NBC sitcoms.

NBC's comedy's don't have studio audiences, probably because they can't find enough people who will agree to sit in a studio and watch them...

That's a ridiculous remark. You can get 100 people to sit in on rafters at a network taping and watch almost anything. They get studio audiences to watch America's Funniest Home Videos, for instance.

I don't believe Seinfeld was never shot in front of a studio audience. It's a decision made by the producers. Now that viewers are getting used to sitcoms without any canned or real (studio audience) laughter whatsoever, the audience has become superfluous in any case,

I can decide when something's funny - I don't need canned (or even real) laughter to cue me in.

I wasn't aware that Paul Reiser had a show either. In fact, NBC shows (both drama & sitcoms) have sucked the last few years. I only watched The Biggest Loser when I was out of work. Other than that, I never watched NBC for anything (including my local news on NBC O&O WMAQ-TV). For any shows, it's mainly been CBS or ABC (Fox for Sunday nights) for commercial TV & PBS (mainly WTTW on WTTW Prime 11.2) for non-commercial TV. That's how much I've been disappointed with network TV (especially NBC) lately.

I took for granted it would be an okay show that I could check out in a month or so from now for the heck of it.

It never really stood out as something I should watch every week.

(I never watched those two shows, only saw the promos and meant to at least watch once, but never did...)

They should try tossing the show on Saturday night around 9 or 10 or so.

And incidentally, you're not hearing a lot lately about Fran Drescher's new daytime talk show... coincidence? ::)

Ok.....This show would not have won an Emmy but cancel it after two weeks.......give me a break........how do you explain all those other Thursday night delights on NBC staying on air with pathetic ratings.......??????????????????/......memo to NBC.... cancel the entire evening and run a test pattern........................

Mad About You without Helen Hunt.....how did it last two episodes?
