NBC has lost its mind!

And the reason NBC 'lost' Medium is they cancelled it.

That's one of the reasons.....IMHO maybe it's because that the show is produced by CBS Paramount, and with the exception of the reality shows, Deal or No Deal (Endemol USA), Chuck and Southland (both Warner Bros.), majority of the programming is from NBC Universal...can you say "Cheep"?!!?

It's well documented. CBS was only in the mix if NBC dropped it. Had NBC picked it up, CBS was out of the mix. Sure, CBS was motivated to pick it up because of the 'all in the familyh' relationship, but they wouldn't have had the chance had NBC not passed.

And how is any network leaning heavily to programs produced within the family anything other than Business 101?

Other example that if CBS didn't renew New Adventures of Old Christine ABC will pick up the show. The question is that will Wanda Sykes continue to Christine and here new late night Saturday talk show?

Im surprised that NBC owned by Universial which owns a top cable network USA can't help out NBC. Maybe Monk and Raw should go to NBC. Better yet have a nite just for a rerun of Monk kind of like CBS does on Saturday "Crimetime".

NBC did that about a year and a half ago with reruns of Monk and Psych. It did not go well, especially when they were on Sunday nights.

Sunday night wasn't smart. NBC should of been doing that during a weeknight.

Maybe Leno at 10pm might work and bring some viewers. Still has to go up aganist CBS's strong drama shows at ten. Two of those being CSI: Miami on Monday and CSI: NY on Wednesday.

You can also add The Mentalist on Thursday and Numb3rs on Friday.

What I don't get is why did CBS cancel Without A Trace, It was a good show, better than the reality crap, like Survivor ,The Great Race, and Big Brother.I hope Without A Trace ends up on another network.

Basic economics. Reality programming is cheaper, and among the major nets' reality shows, the Great Amazing Race and Survivor still have decent if unspectacular ratings to counter the other shows they air against. Without a Trace, Cold Case and The Unit were likewise delivering decent if unspectacular ratings of their own, but cost significantly more. It was public knowledge one of that trio at most was likely to come back; for whatever reason, Cold Case made the cut. Whether it was the last-minute ratings bump, agreements to cut costs or any number of other reasons, we don't know at this point. Good shows get cancelled all the time, and no one is picking up Without a Trace.

True and also the fact the reality shows do have this way to get many people to watch them even if they can't stand such shows in the first place so they don't get left out in conversations at the office or whatever. Peer pressure perhaps? Keeping up with the Joneses? Like those who HATE gambling, nightclubs, traffic and 100+ degree summer weather in the desert...but they go visit Las Vegas anyway...only because their friends had been there.

Why does NBC do a fall / winter schedule? Thats part of the reason and why they lost Medium to CBS. Might this be another bad move by NBC when they thought JAG wouldn't be a hit in 1996 and CBS takes it and becomes a hit and lasts 10 seaons. And didn't NBC almost want the CSI series but said no and CBS took that too? Only NBC Primetime I watch is Sunday Night Football. As for the other nights I watch CBS. Im surprised that NBC owned by Universial which owns a top cable network USA can't help out NBC. Maybe Monk and Raw should go to NBC. I vote for "Monk" reruns. It was too expensive to get cable and ABC dropped it. I didn't even see the first episodes because until Willie Nelson was on, I didn't know how much I would like it.

"Chuck" is a very good show too and I'm glad it gets to come back.
