NBC to bid bye-bye to Burbank

Uhh....Google Maps Alert!!!!! Burbank is NOT in NY.
 
Ellen is taped in Studio 11 at NBC Bubank. Last Call with Carson Daily is taped in Studio 9. I suspect NBC will be modifying other Universal City sound stages for television production studios such as Ellen, Carson Daily, Days of Our Lives, and Access Hollywood. I believe the new NBC Television facilities being built will only house KNBC, Local Telemundo, and studio space for occasional NBC/MSNBC/CNBC News interview feeds, and offices. Can anyone shed any detail plans on this?

Thanks for the correction. I said Ellen was in 9. I forgot about Carson. He moved in right after I left NBC.

As for your other query, it's a good question and I'm sure that as part of the massive expansion planned for Universal Studios there will be new stages as well. Both the NBC lot and Universal Studios have been crammed for need of more space and stages for the past several years.
 
Coincidentally, this news comes on the heels of NBC's Pittsburgh affiliate WPXI moving from its longtime home on Television Hill to new facilities in the city's northern outskirts.
 
As a side note, NBC Nightly News will move to a new set at 30 Rock on Monday, Oct 22.
