NBC Universal's "Green Is Universal"

Two obersvations:

One, whatever NBC is doing, stupid or not, is working, as you can tell from all the people posting about here who have actually seen it.

Two, the sunday night football "candlelight" game , they must have been using LED light panels for the studio lights. The color temperature of the lighting appeared this way. Judging from the lighting angles, they were fixed to the cameras, as you could tell where each of the cameras were aimed based on the light projection!

It was disgusting last night. Every show was tree hugger propaganda. Write the FCC and get NBC's license revoked. Global warming is a myth and GE is selling it.

And maybe we can get FOX NEWS license revoked for spweing out radical right wing propaganda?

Are broadcasting networks still licensed these days?

And unfortunately, Fox News Channel's license can't be revoked -- they don't have one. (Cable channels aren't licensed in the US.)

1. Fox News doesn't have, nor does it require, an FCC license. It's not possible to revoke something that does not exist. Fox News is a content provider, not a station owner. Fox Television Stations, Inc. is the licensee for the News Corporation O&Os. It is legally a separate company, wholly owned by News Corp. It has nothing directly to do with Fox News Channel other than common corporate ownership.

2. Do both of you have a problem with the First Amendment? Apparently so. "Tree hugger propaganda" and "radical right wing propaganda" are both protected under our Constitution. If somebody thinks that one, the other, or both are total BS, too bad. Don't watch if you don't like it.

Being green, just like thinking you're a homosexual, is trendy nowadays. Just like tattoos, give it some time. The fad will go away.

First,, my comment about FOx News license was just plain sarcasm, making a point that if one thinks NBC is slanted and should have their license revoked, the same should happen to Fox.

Second, I have no problem with the first amendment, where did you get that from. Again, just another comparison,, if us "Tree Huggers" should not be allowed to speak the "TRUTH", why should the other side be allowed to speak their brand of "Truth".

Theres BS on both sides of any issue,, because of how we have turned news programs into political outlets,,, both left and right. I happen to support the "Greening" of America. If JUulius Leonare Marx desn't, thats his decision, but that is no reason to call for that information to be suppressed or a media outlet to lose their license because he doesn't agree with their programming.

Duly noted, but it didn't come across that way. There are too many people on this board who say exactly what you said, and they're 100% dead-serious. Good to know you're not one of them. Friendly suggestion: Use a smiley like ;) or ::) when you're being sarcastic.

I apologize if I came across a bit harsh, but when one suggests that the government act in any way against a citizen or corporation for speaking out in any way, that's a desire that the they illegally violate the First Amendment. They do that (or at least try to) too many times as it is, regardless of which party controls the Executive Branch at any given moment.

That's why we have free speech and we have to be vigilant in allowing and protecting that right. You have the right to speak your mind, so does Julius, and so do I. I'd like to keep it that way.

Networks, per se, are not licensed. The stations they own are. No stations, no network.

Various FCC rules regulate networks and/or govern their ability to secure independent affiliates. Same thing for cable channels and cable systems. The FCC can and does regulate networks and cable channels, when it decides to.

Radio stations manage to embrace political correctness and right-wing talk radio (irony noted). GE is a major industrial polluter and war contractor and does a "green" stunt promotion. Maybe think if you save a few watts by changing light bulbs, nobody will notice corporate and industrial energy use (like all those big buildings lit up all night long). Maybe they remember Alfred Nobel who made millions as a munitions maker and war profiteer but is remembered for the small part of his fortune he used to start a peace prize. Or Joe Pulitzer, a publisher of trashy newspapers.

Global Warming is nothing but moonshine brewed up by Al Gore and his band of loonies. Since Gore was no longer relevant on the political scene, he found "Global Warming" and now is out to convert the world to his new religion.
Global Warming is a device of the left to deprive people of their rights and freedoms under the phony guise of "Saving the Planet". While businesses are more than ready to pander to the green crowd by promoting so-called green products, they are just as phony as Gore. The biggest laugh is E-Surance, and their little secret agent. It's beyond laughable that people are so gullible. As far as buying from these people, I purposely avoid purchasing anything from them if possible.
