Did you really read the transcript? What possibly could have been their motive for comparing the gorilla to a METCO student other than overt racism. Yes, the METCO line was a throw-in which I'm sure they wanted to take back immediately but it was uttered nonetheless. These are the same guys who make jokes about Meterparel, their Jewish counterpart, being cheap. Just because he is willing to go along with the gag doesn't make it any less offensive to others.
I think the whole incident was feigned outrage. Those who disagree with their politics(and we are in Massachusetts) used this as their "AHA" moment and labeled them racists. For some reason one is considerd guilty until proven innocent if the charge is racism rather than the other way around. These are two individuals who spent their careers around professional athletes, the majority of whom are not white. They know how to act and what to say. I bet they didn't even know what line supposedly offended anyone until it was pointed out to them.

The only humans I've ever seen who reminded me of gorillas were some of those hairy Bulgarian weight lifters on WWoS during the steroid era.

Why would a Metco student remind you of a gorilla?

If BigO simulcasts on NESN, what would that do to his Tailgate show on CSNNE? Would CSNNE people like Dickerson not be allowed on WEEI if they are shown on NESN?

This could be a great opportunity for CSNNE to air a simulcast of 98.5's morning show.

i think they would do felger and mazz since they just started sports net central less then a yr ago i dought they would displace the morning airings. since there trying to compete with nesn!!!

It started yesterday.

Kind of interesting, fun to see the sort of behind the scenes stuff, but you also get to see Callahan biting his nails and his crazy person eyes darting about.

The NESN bit they did the other night during the Bruins game was painful to watch.

Anyone remember FNN/Score? It was a financial news network by day..many of its anchors migrated to CNBC when it started up more than two decades ago..and at night it was a live call in sports show with a score ticker..that's the genesis of what we're seeing now..

The D and C simulcast simply expands the brand to another platform..if you're going to remain relevent in a crowded media marketplace, you have to get as many eyeballs and ears as you can..and if the NESN Sports Desk is on borrowed time, so be it..

"The Big Show" wouldnt work during the afternoon because of pre emptions from Red Sox Baseball during the season, along with early starts for any Bruins programming that might happen during that season on NESN..and watching those guys trying to scream over one another isn't that interesting..

is it me or has nesn given up??? ever since Comcast Sportsnet launched sports nite or whatever nesn has fired people and downgraded there sports desk i mean nesn daily to include just one anchor!!!! its just not the same and now dc or whoever displaced them to 5am or after when you can watch sports nite and get your sports fix then!!

Over in NY both YES and MSG air shows from WFAN.
Boomer and Carton mornings on MSG
Mike Francesa 1:00 - 6:30 on YES

As for NESN Daily they should be live in the AM right after DC. Still be live on night also.

FNN/Score did have an entertaining call-in sports trivia show, hosted by Todd Donaho.

The score ticker was a good feature, although the updates weren't nearly real-time the way they are now on ESPN. But at least with Score, you didn't have to put up with ESPN's in-house bias -- note how scores from the NHL, to which rival networks Versus and NBC have the rights, don't get updated every "The Lead"-to-"The Lead" cycle while NFL and NBA scores do. Ah, for those early, innocent years of cable.

The show was called Time Out for Trivia. Great show. I watched it religiously in the mid 80s.

Those really were the good old days.

Hey the guy even got me to order my own Pursue the Pennant game, he was such a good salesman.
