New affiliates for Dr. Laura

Just saw an ad pop up right here on Radio-Info showing a smiling picture of Laura Schellsinger saying something like Dr. Laura has 36 new affiliates. Why the ad when she's going satellite at the beginning of the year? Must be an old ad. How can she get 36 new affiliates when she'll disappear ota so soon? I'd like to know how many stations dropped her early? Her show is supposed to run on Detroit's WJR for two hours beginning weeknight at 11pm. Last week, however, we heard a weak imitation instead.

She would take you to task for that remark, and then say... "Now go do the right thing", which would include an apology.

Why would I apoligise to this racist Satan worshiping freak who doesn't follow her own advice? The woman is a homewrecker and has a pervert son. Perhaps Derwood would be a better person if his mother was home more often as she suggests women do.

She's been back on WJR. I wonder if in her last week on OTA radio, will she do anything special? They/she might just run re-runs. Given the nature of her show, she has an easier time hiding the fact that the show, or segments of it, aren't new or live. I remember one time hearing a tense call from a woman who wanted to bust her boyfriend for something, and ended up asking Dr. Laura if a piece of hair would help. Dr. Schlessinger hung up saying, "I don't want to talk to people who just want to be mean". Several months, maybe even a year later I heard that same call. However other calls around it, I didn't recall. Made me wonder how much "cutting and pasting" they do for a whole show, or part of a show.

Listening to a irrelevant hypocritical racist satan-worshiping quack is not going to make anyone a better person.

As long as she has a large and/or marketable audience, I don't believe that she is irrelevant. I don't believe that she ever said she was a perfect person in the past... none of us are. I appreciate her focus on supporting the nuclear American family. However, I do wonder sometimes about her snap decisons on answering phoned in questions. Sometimes it seems she does need to hear more of the story, even though she claims she doesn't. Additionally, there have been times when coming up against a hard break, she has cut calls short and has given some quick general advice which may or may not be relevant to the caller. It makes me wonder why she either took the call so close to a break to begin with, or why she didn't just continue the call after the break (which she does do sometimes). I think there is some ego involved as she is so sure that she knows what's up with, sometimes, limited amounts of information.

The question was about apologizing, not listening.

Dr. Laura is irrelevant. When was the last time she had a large radio audience? I haven't heard her on the air in at least 5 years, she was no where to be found on a radio station in like over 100 miles.

I still haven't heard why anyone explain why she doesn't live what she preaches. She says women should stay at home to raise the family, but she was rarely home. Her son is a sexual deviant. She hasn't spoken with her immediate family in years. She cheated with a married man, did still porn pics, shacked up with men.

Because, like I said, it might make you a better man. Try it. It might be cathartic.

Who do you think on the internet could explain the actions of others over whom they have no control?
What keeps you from asking Dr. Laura that question, instead of people on the internet? (another thing that none of us can explain, so I asked you :) ).

I believe that she has seen the error in her ways of the past, and her show is an attempt to help people not make the same mistakes, not that she is now "perfect". Even Mr. Perfect wasn't perfect. Ask Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.

I just gotta question how does someone know so much about someone that they know is true, yet they don't know how much time she spent at home, they've never been approached by her son, and they're still holding on to something from 40 years ago to show how she doesn't match up with what she's said for the last 20?

What good would it do to apologize to a irrelevant hypocritical racist satan-worshiping quack? It doesn't stop Dr. Laura from being a irrelevant hypocritical racist satan-worshiping quack. I think Dr. Laura should apologize for being a irrelevant hypocritical racist satan-worshiping quack

Let's see Dr. Laura was doing radio shows, writing books, doing book tours, worshiping Satan, making media appearances (when she still was relevant). When did she have time to stay home and spend time with her family as she told other women to do? In addition to being a sexual deviant, didn't her son also try to burn down their house when he was a teenager. Maybe if Dr. Laura had put her family ahead of her career, her son would have been better adjusted.

I guess you're right.
There is no hope but repetition.

I guess you know more about their private lives than me. And probably more than them.
She should've just stayed anonymous on the internets, but I don't think that was available when she started....

Prahaps you should check into someone's background before taking their advice seriously. She still shows herself to be a satan worshiping racist recently.

Dr. Laura's private and public life is well discussed on the internet. Her radio show came on nationally as the internet becoming the rage so much was discussed about her then. Her nudie pictures were all over the internet then. Her hypocrital personal life was discussed on several radio programs back in the day too.

It's hard to stay anonymous on the internet as a public figure nowadays. Just ask Rex Ryan. At least Rex isn't lecturing people about morality while living a kinky life (as Dr. Laura did). It would be interesting to see Mrs. Ryan call Dr. Homewrecker sometime to see how Dr. Laura would react to the Ryans personal lives.
